I bought my Quirky HDB Toilet door from TB!!
I couldn’t believe I bought my toilet door from Taobao!!!
When I was doing my door shopping, I couldn’t find the door that would fit the theme of my house. I wanted something out of the ordinary and so I went on Carousell to look at the different manufacturers and their door designs.
While some of them could customise the door that u wanted but it would cost be a bomb (easily $1k above).
So, I was very committed to get the door that I wanted at a cheaper price and I turned to TB!
To my surprise, there are lots of door manufacturers on TB and I tbh I was very overwhelmed with the options. After looking at so many manufacturers, I decided to go with one (simply because I know that they have done similar doors before). I requested for a yellow door with a fluted panel in the middle (with round edges).
BEFORE ANYONE OF YOU START ON THIS DOOR PURCHASING JOURNEY…. Please note that it comes with lots of tedious effort…
1. Finding your preferred door design (you can search on tb / xiaohongshu and screenshot them to share with the seller on TB to see if they can make it)
2. Be prepared to communicate in FULL mandarin over TB regarding your door dimensions (the door manufacturer had to WeChat video call me instead so that he could teach me how to measure my door)
3. Colour charts were given, but you need to go with your guts on how the colour’s gonna turn out (tip: get the manufacturer to send your samples of previous customer with the same colour door)
4. For such unique doors, we needed to use their door frame, so we had to remove our existing BTO door frame and install the new door frame (provided by the manufacturer) - so you need to liaise with your contractor/ID to get the door frame out
5. Be prepared that your door/ door frame might have a scratches/cracks (since it’s sea freight, there bound to have mishaps) my door frame had a few cracks when it arrived and I had a tough time getting the seller to refund me… in the end he offered to ship another door frame for me)… and I’m still waiting for it to come..
6. Expect a long waiting time of 1-2 months for it to be manufactured and delivered…
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the seller/manufacturer that I got the door from .. but if you are looking cheap toilet doors, try other TB sellers!

Finally, explore different Taobao sellers and read reviews thoroughly — my experience was mixed, and other sellers might provide better service or products. Overall, purchasing a budget-friendly and stylish HDB toilet door from online platforms is possible with patience, clear communication, and some diligence.
