「佐世保で有名な長崎ちゃんぽんを食べたい」「地元のおすすめってどこ？」で探している人に、私が行ってよかったのが佐世保駅すぐの香蘭。駅の高架下という分かりやすい場所で、観光の合間でも寄りやすいです。 実際に行って驚いたのは、平日の昼すぎでも席が埋まっているくらいの人気。タイミングによっては少し待つので、時間に余裕を持って行くのが安心です。店前に食品サンプルのショーケースがあって、ちゃんぽん・皿うどん・牡蠣入りなどメニューの雰囲気が想像しやすいのも助かりました（初訪問だと地味にうれしい）。 ちゃんぽんは、スープに野菜と魚介の旨みがしっかり出ていて、麺はむちむち食感。写真で見る通り具材がどっさりなので、並サイズでも「思った以上に量がある！」となりやすいです。私はお腹を空かせて行ったつもりでも満腹になったので、小食の人はシェアや軽めのサイドと合わせるのもアリ。逆にがっつり派は大盛も選べますが、本当に大きいので覚悟して注文するのが良いと思います。 あと、香蘭でよく検索されているのが「牡蠣入りちゃんぽん」。冬の時期は九十九島産の牡蠣が入っていて、ちゃんぽんのコクに牡蠣の風味が合わさってご褒美感が増します。季節限定っぽいので、行く前に提供時期を確認できると確実です。 「香蘭 レビュー」として最後にまとめると、①佐世保駅近で行きやすい、②野菜たっぷりで満足度が高い、③冬限定の牡蠣入りが狙い目、④混みやすいので時間調整がカギ。この4点を押さえて行くと、初めてでも満足しやすいと思います。
