「おしゃれなカフェでコーヒーを楽しみたい」気分の日に、私は御所西エリアのStory coffee and espressoへ。店内は落ち着いた空気感で、写真映えもするのに“静かにコーヒーを味わえる”のが良かったです（撮影はお手元のみOKなので、そこは事前に知っておくと安心）。 私が特に好きだったのは、アイスカフェラテ×バスクチーズケーキの組み合わせ。ラテのまろやかさと、バスクの濃厚さって相性が良いのですが、ここは塩が添えられているのがポイントでした。ひと口ケーキ→ほんの少し塩→ラテ、の順で食べると甘さがキュッと引き立って、同じケーキでも印象が変わります。甘いものが得意じゃない人でも、塩でバランスを取りやすいと思います。 “おしゃれカフェ”って雰囲気重視で味が普通…なこともありますが、ここはスペシャリティコーヒー専門店。豆のラインナップが定期的に入れ替わるので、同じお店でも行くたびに違う香りや味に出会えるのが魅力です。私は選ぶのに迷ったら、まずはラテ系を頼んでお店のエスプレッソの感じを楽しむ派。次回はドリップも試して、豆の個性をストレートに感じてみたいです。 モーニング利用なら、朝8時スタートはかなり助かります。観光前にサクッと立ち寄ってコーヒーで整えると、その日がちょっと良い一日になる感じ。地下鉄から徒歩15分くらいなので、時間に余裕を持って散歩がてら向かうのがおすすめです。お会計は交通系ICやiDも使えて、旅の途中でもスマートでした。 「京都でおしゃれにコーヒーを飲みたい」「スイーツも妥協したくない」日に、塩添えバスクチーズケーキのペアリング、ぜひ試してみてください。
