「HOO KYOTO」って検索すると、場所やメニューだけじゃなくて「どれ頼むべき？」「どの時間なら買える？」が気になる人が多いと思うので、私が行った時の体感をもう少し補足します。 まず雰囲気。1階で注文→2階でイートインの流れで、2階は大きな一枚板テーブルと切り株みたいな椅子があって、無機質で洗練された感じ。写真も撮りやすいです。ただ、階段上がってすぐの席は冷房が直撃しやすくて、長居すると地味に冷えるので羽織りがあると安心（夏でも油断禁物）。 次にメニュー選び。定番ならカスタードドーナツは外せないと思いました。クリームがたっぷりでも重くなくて、甘さがくどくないので「まず1個」枠にぴったり。甘いのとしょっぱいの両方いきたい人は、ソーセージドーナツ（アメリカンドッグ系のラインもあり）を一緒に頼むと満足度が上がります。生地自体の甘さが強くないので、ソーセージの塩気と相性がよくて食べ応えも◎。 ドリンクはレモネードソーダがさっぱりで、ドーナツの後味をリセットしてくれる感じ。もう少し大人っぽくしたいならエスプレッソレモネードが面白くて、コーヒーの苦味と柑橘の酸味が意外と合います。暑い日はテイクアウトで持ち歩くのも良さそうでした。 混雑・売り切れ対策は、結論「早めが正義」。私もオープン当日に行った時はお昼には売り切れで、別日も平日12:30で席待ちが出ていました。土日は特に早い時間の訪問が安心で、行く前に公式のストーリーで売り切れ情報をチェックしてから向かうとムダ足になりにくいです。 アクセスは丸太町駅から徒歩圏で、二条城方面の観光と組み合わせやすい立地。HOO KYOTOは“さっと買う”も“2階でゆっくり”もできるので、京都散策の休憩ポイントとして覚えておくと便利でした。
