... Read moreMaking biscuits at home doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming, especially when you can rely on just three ingredients to create a delicious outcome. Using a quality biscuit mix as the base simplifies the process, allowing you to focus on texture and flavor. The addition of heavy cream not only binds the dough but also contributes to a tender, flaky consistency that you’ll love. I’ve found that gently kneading the dough just a few times, around 3 to 4, is key to keeping the biscuits light instead of dense. Patting the dough to about an inch thick ensures they bake evenly and rise well. For an extra soft edge, placing the biscuits touching each other on the pan or in a cast-iron skillet makes a big difference, creating that coveted pull-apart texture. Topping the warm biscuits with a brush of honey right after baking adds a subtle sweetness and a lovely sheen that enhances the flavor without overpowering it. It’s a simple finishing touch that makes these biscuits perfect for breakfast or a cozy snack. If you want to experiment further, try adding a pinch of salt or a dash of cinnamon to the dough for a little extra complexity. These biscuits also pair wonderfully with butter, jam, or even a slice of cheese for savory variations. Whether you’re a novice baker or just looking for a speedy recipe with minimal ingredients, this recipe is a great staple to have in your cooking repertoire.
