My Tree
This is the little Christmas tree I found at Gabes store. I have a nice pre-lit tree and all the Hallmark ornaments from the time my sons were small children and beyond. However, I haven't been able to pull out the tree or ornaments since 2023 when my middle son decided to end his life after battling PTSD and then 6 months later, my father passed from dementia
The holidays just aren't the same anymore, I can't get into the right frame of mind to celebrate, and with family spread out all over, I can't find a reason to decorate my house. The first year, I was just in shock. This year, I am feeling all the losses. Plus, the holidays have become so commercialized and all about the mighty dollar that it all just feels so fake to me.
