February Reading Wrap-up

Wrapping up my February reading with 16 books gave me a mix of emotions and insights into different genres. I really enjoyed the historical fiction selections like "The Secret Keeper" and "Madeleine Martin's" works that brought rich, atmospheric storytelling. The fantastical reads such as "Dark Kingdom of Lies" by Jacqueline White and "Brothers of Fairwitch" also offered compelling worlds with magic and complex characters. However, not every book resonated with me. I marked a few DNFs (did not finish), like "Burn Down Master's Moie House" and some titles by Sara Cate which didn’t quite match my expectations despite the strong reputations and bestseller status. It taught me the value of knowing when to set a book aside. This month’s wrap-up highlighted how dual-perspective novels and action-packed fantasy can enhance engagement, especially when they provide lush world-building, as seen in Eden Royce’s "Psychopomp & Circumstance" and Jim K. Brown’s "The Bounty of Blood" series. Overall, detoxing with a combination of fantastical elements, historical depth, and complex narratives made February a fully dissociative but rewarding reading month. I’m excited to see what March’s releases will bring, especially those anticipated titles with intriguing fantasy and mystery themes. This wrap-up has inspired me to diversify my reading list and follow both expected hits and hidden gems more openly.
