The Turning Page
You’ve been walking a long way
on feet that learned the weight of things
before they ever learned to rest.
You carried storms in your chest
and still made room for sunlight;
tiny, stubborn rays that refused
to stop loving you.
You’ve outgrown versions of yourself
that once swore they were permanent,
left rooms that dimmed your spirit,
unlearned the language of shrinking.
There were nights you almost gave up
on the softness in you,
but look
you still reach for gentleness
even after the world showed you its teeth.
You’ve been the apology and the forgiveness,
the breaking and the mending,
the question and the answer
no one else could give you.
And somehow, through all of it,
your heart kept writing its own script;
choosing courage over numbness,
choosing presence over pretending,
choosing to stay.
So if today feels heavy,
remember this:
you are not at the end of your story,
you are at the turning page.
And the fact that you’re still here,
still open,
still willing to feel
that is the quiet miracle
you keep under your ribs.
