Amanohashidate is one of the three most scenic spots in Japan.
It is a royal road sightseeing spot, but the back is deep!
Crotch peeping is famous, but did you know that the shape is completely different depending on whether you look at Amanohashidate from the north side or the south side?
Kasamatsu Park on the north side and Viewland on the south side have different features of the observatory, so check it out!

There are two observation decks to see Amanohashidate from the south side [Amanohashidate View Land] and from the north side [Kasamatsu Park]. If you want to visit both, we recommend a common ticket valid for 2 days!

"Chiimochi," a specialty of Amanohashidate, is sold in four teahouses lined up in front of the gate of Chion-ji Temple. At Ryugu Soba, you can eat Chiimochi of "Chitose Chaya" inside the store, so try tasting the specialty as well.

If you don't have time and can only go to one place, I recommend Amanohashidate View Land. You can worship the shape of Amanohashidate that everyone knows, and the park is like a small amusement park, so children can enjoy it!
I rode a "cycle car," a vehicle that goes like a bicycle on a rail installed in a high place. This was surprisingly fun ☺️
There is no parking lot dedicated to Amanohashidate View Land, but there are many private parking lots nearby, and Chion-ji Temple and municipal parking lots are also large, so you can park a lot ◎

Amanohashidate is 3.6 km long. You can walk across or rent a bicycle. I walked halfway and turned back.

The rotation time is limited except on Sundays, so check the rotation time at the tourist information center and nearby shops.
I visited on Saturday, and the time when the bridge rotates is only 9: 55 in the morning according to the official information. However, when I went to the site and asked the people at the pleasure boat terminal, they said that it rotates around 16: 25! # First, check the time when the bridge rotates, and then schedule the surrounding sightseeing. ◎

Because it is about 15 minutes by car from Amanohashidate, it is easy to stop by as a spot ◎ If you walk a few minutes on the road maintained from the parking lot, it is already a waterfall!
Even though it is so easy to access, it is so dynamic and natural, and it is not easy to get a waterfall that can be so close! It was a time when snow remained (early February), but I could go near the waterfall (shoes that are okay even if you are submerged in water are recommended)

天橋立って「松並木の砂州」をどう見たいかで満足度が変わるな…と実感しました。写真でよく見る“空撮みたいな全景”を狙うなら、まずは展望台選びが大事です。 私は、北側の傘松公園と南側の天橋立ビューランドを両方回ってみて、見え方の違いにびっくり。傘松公園はキリッとした“龍が昇る”感じで、松並木と海のコントラストがきれい。ビューランドは「これぞ天橋立！」という王道の形が見やすくて、初めての人には特に刺さると思います。時間に余裕があるなら共通チケットで2か所行くと、同じ砂州でも“別物の景色”が楽しめました。 「全景をきれいに撮るコツ」も少し。展望台では、まずスマホを0.5倍（広角）にして砂州の端から端まで入れるのがおすすめ。松並木のラインが海にスッと伸びるので、少し上（空）を入れすぎず、海と砂州の割合を多めにすると“空撮っぽさ”が出やすいです。人が多い日は、展望台の端っこで数秒待つだけでも画角がクリアになります。 砂州・松並木の散策は、歩くなら靴選びが地味に重要でした。松並木は日陰が多くて歩きやすいけど、海沿いに寄り道すると砂で足元が取られがち。私は途中で引き返したけど、しっかり渡るならレンタサイクルの方が体力温存できて、写真スポットも増やせます。 グルメ面では「天橋立ワイナリーのソフトクリーム」が良かったです。甘すぎない感じで、観光の合間にちょうどいい休憩になりました。智恩寺の門前では知恵餅も外せなくて、私はお昼のついでにさっと食べられるお店を選んだら回りやすかったです。 最後に、廻旋橋は“回る時間”を先に確認してから動くのが正解。私は現地で聞いて予定を微調整できたので、行く前に観光案内所や近くの人に確認しておくと、待ち時間が減って1日がスムーズになります。金引きの滝まで足を伸ばすなら、歩き疲れた後でも行けるように、滝は夕方枠にしておくと気持ち的にもラクでした。
