There is a free shuttle bus from JR "Matsue Station" and JR "Yonago Station" when Ikeizumi Botan is held.

✔️ 30,000 peonies can be floated only during Golden Week! See the schedule above!
✔️ the entrance fee is only paid in cash, so be careful!
✔️ at the same time as the opening, a great number of people enter, so taking pictures without people is a hurdle
✔️ in addition to the peony season, the garden is worth seeing such as hydrangeas, skunk cabbage, autumn leaves and snow scenes, so if you are likely to come in different seasons, we recommend the annual passport 1,800 yen!
✔️ wheelchair users can also take a walk in the garden! There seems to be free rental of wheelchairs, so please ask on site.
✔️ Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in the park.

実際にGWの由志園（池泉牡丹）に行ってみて感じた「混雑のリアル」と「回り方のコツ」を追記します。これから行く人の参考になれば！ まず混雑について。開園直後から一気に人が入っていくので、池の前（木製の橋や小道）は早い時間から撮影待ちが発生しやすいです。人の写り込みゼロにこだわるなら、①開園前に到着して入口付近で待機→入園したら最初に池へ直行、②池の端側（橋の正面より少し外れた位置）から望遠気味で撮る、③あえて“人が入っても絵になる構図”（橋や松の木を入れる）にする、が現実的でした。 見頃の考え方もポイント。池泉牡丹は「咲いている花を池に浮かべる」イベントなので、桜みたいに“満開の日”を一点狙いするというより、開催日程に合わせて行けばOK感が強いです。日程で色が変わるので、写真の雰囲気で選ぶのも楽しいところ。ピンクと白が混ざる景色はやわらかい印象、黄金の牡丹はキリッと華やかで、同じ池でも別世界に見えました。 アクセスは、混雑日ほど無料シャトルバスを使うのがラクでした。車の場合、駐車場探しや出庫で時間が読めないことがあるので、時間優先なら駅発の便に合わせるのがおすすめ。逆にドライブ派は、庭園滞在を早めに切り上げる（お昼前に出る）だけで渋滞ストレスがかなり減りました。 園内の楽しみ方は、池泉牡丹だけで終わらせるのがもったいないです。藤棚や枯山水、滝のある散策路など、写真映えする“静かなエリア”が複数あるので、池が混んできたら先にそちらへ逃げると快適でした。ベンチで一息つける場所もあるので、歩き疲れやすい人は休憩ポイントを決めておくと安心。 食べ歩きなら、高麗人参ソフトは意外と食べやすくて、歩き回ったあとにちょうど良かったです（行列が短いタイミングを見つけたら即買いが吉）。 最後に注意点。入園料の支払いが現金のみの日があるので、到着前に必ず現金を用意しておくのが安全です。それと、由志園はペット同伴入園ができないので、旅行の行程に組む場合は預け先も含めて事前に調整しておくと困りません。 GWの花の景色を狙うなら、由志園の池泉牡丹は「一度は見てほしい」迫力でした。混雑はするけど、回り方を工夫すれば満足度はかなり高いと思います。
