DIY WEDDING THINGS PART 2

1. Save the date invites - I really liked the whole b&w minimalist aesthetics. Worked with a vendor to design this and had the first piece printed on vellum paper that layered nicely on top of our photo which allowed our photo to be clean and still seen since all the words are on the first translucent piece and gave my photo a “see through” vibey effect which I loved!

2. Matching bridesmaids bouquet - I wanted my bridesmaids to have their bouquets match the color of their dresses (which i knew could be tricky..) but I’m so happy with how these turned out and they looked stunning!! also how gorg are the dresses… 🤩

3. Table set up with the newsletter and bar menus - I didn’t wanna shy away from colors for the big day so similar to the bridesmaids dresses, the whole theme was set on vibrant, playful colors and we laid the newspaper and bar menu from part 1 here too during dinner reception

4. Flower girl sign and petal basket - I saw so many cute versions of this all over Pinterest like this one and knew I wanted to create one for our cutest flower girl and she looked so adorbs going down the aisle in them!! I worked with a vendor to print the signage and for the basket, I got it from Ji Mei (a nursery along upper Thomson, but there’s plenty on shopee

5. DIY Photo Booth - on the theme of colors and wildflowers, I wanted a photo booth with “floating flowers” so we got the arch, white “veil” cloth and transparent strings from Taobao which was perfect against our ocean/sky backdrop

6. Ring box - just the idea of having our rings in a transparent box with flowers was quite nice instead of the typical ring box

7. Pool floats - it was a struggle town with these because of variable factor like rain, wind etc and weather the floats will fall off the pool since it was like an “infinity pool” but the vision came through!!!! 10/10!!

8. Photo cards instead of guest books - we’ve repurposed this into our house as decor and it’s nice being able to display them and seeing the well wishes from our guests anytime rather than have it kept away!

... Read moreIf you're planning a wedding and interested in a royal wedding theme or looking for funny, quirky save the date wording, incorporating personal touches with a bit of humor is a great way to engage your guests. One idea is to blend classic elegance with fun elements—for example, using playful phrasing such as "Join us for a regal celebration (tiaras optional)" or "Put on your best crown and RSVP!" for invites while maintaining a formal design palette that nods to royal themes. For save the date cards, don't be afraid to get creative and quirky. You could insert lighthearted jokes or puns related to weddings or your personal story that give guests a sneak peek of your wedding vibe and spark excitement. Also, consider unique materials like vellum paper layered over photos, which adds both a tactile and visual interest that guests will remember. Combining a minimalist aesthetic with personalized flair, like the transparent ring box filled with flowers or a photo booth decorated with floating wildflowers, creates memorable moments that guests will talk about long after. Finally, repurposing items such as photo cards into home decor is a fantastic way to keep the warmth and memories of your day alive continuously. Adding these thoughtful, personal touches will elevate your wedding beyond the standard and make it a truly royal and joyous celebration filled with laughter and love.
