Worth it?? Neon Pigeon review
Our total damage was around $220 for 2 pax. It’s a special pricing of $68++ per pax because we’re on the tasting menu for restaurant week, and then we added a couple of drinks too.
Was it worth it? Definite no for us :( especially for the price and the lack of effort or craft put into the dishes.
Maybe it’ll be a better choice to come here on a la carte basis. The only thing we truly enjoyed was the Tokyo Hummus. Everything else was sadly a miss :(
Ps it’s Dining City’s restaurant week so lots of places to check out if you’re a fellow foodie!!
If you’re thinking about trying Neon Pigeon, my experience might help you decide. The Tokyo Hummus stood out as the best dish, with a balanced flavor that made the creamy texture enjoyable. I noticed that the curry chips paired with it were a bit too heavy and might overwhelm the hummus, so maybe a simpler side like sourdough would be a nicer fit. Some other dishes were quite average, like the wasabi scallops and karaage chicken, which had decent flavor but didn’t feel special or memorable. The smoked duck yakisoba was disappointing due to its overly sweet and almost ketchup-like sauce, making it difficult to finish. One thing that stood out was the lack of attention from the staff, as they didn't check on how we found the dishes—which is something I usually appreciate during restaurant visits. If you’re curious about sampling Neon Pigeon, trying their a la carte options might be a better choice rather than the tasting menu. Also, since it was during Dining City’s restaurant week, it’s a great opportunity to explore other local restaurants for better culinary experiences. Many spots offer unique dishes and more consistent quality, so don’t hesitate to check around if you want to make the most of the event.
