dear moonchild…u’ve my heart 🌙🫶🏻
moonchild has been trending all over social media for their aesthetic space & yummy food! but is it worth it? does it live it up to its hype? 🫨🤞🏻
the first time i went was during nov’23, i was intrigued by the space & setups they have. i’d say moonchild has a 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽 as customers are greeted by a big door that acts as a divider between the cafe & outdoor. once u step in, the cafe is extremely well-lit from natural light + warm lightings 💡 additionally, there are different seating arrangements 🪑
1. outdoor (𝑝𝑒𝑡-𝑓𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑙𝑦)
2. indoor
- window
- bar/long table (𝑛𝑒𝑎𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑎𝑟)
- round tables
- bigger sharing tables
- centralize area tables (𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑖𝑔𝑔𝑒𝑟 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑑)
we went @ late noon (3:30𝑝𝑚) & there was no Q but there was still ppl dining in~ & we sat @ windows seat 🪟 first off, the menu was sooo aesthetically to look at & i’d say they have quite a variety for brunch + drinks but it’d be great if they actually include the bfast items in too…🥹

— scallop rose mafaldine (bf’s) ✶ 9/10
i’d say this is quite worth as there’s 𝐇𝐔𝐆𝐄 chunks of scallops x5!!! & the pasta is yummy as well pls get this 😤
— stock-pot chicken & gruyere ✶ 9/10
i was pretty sick that day so i decided to get this stock dish. i was pleasantly surprise, it was buttery & so yummy! there’s also 2pcs of bread to go along with. not a lot of cafes do these kind of dish, so i appreciate it & i’ll definitely have it again!
— brussel sprouts ✶ 7/10 (10/10 for bf 😂)
i prefer when there’s a glaze so it was a lil too bitter for my liking…but i ate some w the stock dish & it was still edible hehe…standard brussels nth much to comment about! 🥗
— cold foam milk-stache ✶ 8/10
basically a macchiato from KOI 🥤 but the tea is pretty yummy but it got pretty diluted @ the end. not sure if can request w/o ice tho

same pasta as the scallop one! it reminiscence of cabonara, everything was OK nothing surprising

very basic dish, u get what u order 🤣 but the unagi is pretty yums tho
— peking chicken burger ✶ 7/10
quite standard chicken burger w special ‘peking’ sauce~
overall it’s pretty good food but @ a cost as well, it’s on the pricier side but i’ll say it’s well worth it if u try it once or for a special occasion! i love the food so i’ll definitely go back, 9/10 for me~ 😋🤍

I recommend arriving in the late afternoon if you want to avoid crowds, as the place can get quite popular during peak meal times. Regarding the menu, the digital copy on their Instagram is a bit difficult to read, so having a physical look at the menu when you arrive is helpful. The menu has a good variety, but I wished they included breakfast items more clearly, since brunch is a big deal here. Must-try dishes include the scallop rose mafaldine, which has huge, succulent scallops and delicious pasta, and the pork dan-dan scallion noodles, which were outstanding and a perfect burst of flavor—truly the star of the menu! The stock-pot chicken & gruyere is a comforting choice, especially if you're feeling under the weather. It comes with buttery broth and bread and is quite unique among cafes. For drinks, I had the cold foam milk-stache (a macchiato from KOI) with yummy tea flavor, though the ice tends to dilute it over time. You might want to ask if they can serve it without ice. The prices are on the higher side, but considering the quality and ambiance, it's worth a visit for a special occasion or if you want to treat yourself.
