UNIQUE & YUMMY BAKES @ EVERTON PARK 🥯🌷

the last i supported the flour’s department was when they were still back @ the previous location (𝑛𝑒𝑎𝑟 ℎ𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑙𝑖𝑚 𝑓𝑜𝑜𝑑 𝑐𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑒) i recently discovered they opened a cafe & i was super stoked to try it! the time i went was for june’s menu 🥘 u can see their menu for june in pic 2!

upon arriving @ ~150pm on sunday, they were 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 & 𝐌𝐎𝐒𝐓 of the food items were sold out. i really wanted to try the sweet bagels…sobs. we ordered & got a table # first while waiting for the next available table—which took about 10mins only luckily! without further ado…

here’s what we got:

𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐌𝐘 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐊𝐔𝐒𝐇𝐀 + 𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐁𝐔𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐓 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 🍞 20/10!

this was extremely worth, super creamy & savoury it we managed to snag the last portion & i was soooo happy as i really wanted to try this too!! my bf & i shared half of the bread, i forgot to add on another pc of bread. but the shiopan is sooo fluffy & insanely good 🤤

𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐊𝐎 𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐒𝐄 𝐓𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐎 𝐄𝐆𝐆 𝐌𝐀𝐘𝐎 𝐁𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐋 𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐎 🥯 8/10

the bagel felt like fried breaded donut & i’m not complaining coz it’s so sinful but yummy too 🍳 everything was well combined but i wish there was more cheeeese 🧀 it was very messy eating this…

[𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋] 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐖𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐘 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐀 𝐂𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓 🍰 9/10

as a cake & matcha lover….this was perfection 💯 it was so so yummy, not overly sweet & the tart was good too. they still had quite a big batch of cakes left on display when the food items were almost sold out 😂

𝐏𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐏𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐎 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐊 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄 🍵 9/10

this was SUPER GAOOO 🥴 u get what the name suggest—pistachio past + milk! definitely getting sore throat if i drank a whole cup of this LOL

𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐖𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐘 𝐌𝐎𝐂𝐇𝐈 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐊 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄 🍓 10/10

this was a pretty shade of pink & the mochi was streeeetchy 🍡 the drink wasn’t too sweet, it felt just nice actually. it was alright for me! they also made the mochi from scratch (literally) as we sat down waiting for the food

verdict? 🫣

the food came at staggering timings as they prepared it once u’ve sat down, we waited for quite a bit (20-25𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑡𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙) i was a lil upset with the service but everyone looks so hardworking & busy, i wouldn’t wanna complain so much :’)

the meal costs $60+ in total 💸 overall i’d say it’s quite worth it as every menu item is so creative & comes from scratch (𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦) ❗&❗ u literally cannot find this elsewhere coupled with the fact that it’s a limited/exclusive menu 🫨

📋 they also rotate their menu on a monthly basis! so u've only about a month to try out each month's menu!

P/S—over the course of few weeks after june, TFD’s owner mentioned on IG that they’ve improved on their service as they hired more staff & baked more items!!! i really hope to receive this new & improved system they have the next time i visit 🧍🏻‍♀️

Everton Food Place
2024/8/18 Edited to

... Read moreIf you're planning a visit to The Flour Department café at Everton Park, here are some tips to enhance your experience. Since their menu changes monthly and tends to sell out quickly, especially on weekends, it's best to arrive early or prepare for a short wait during peak times. They prioritize making food fresh after you’ve settled, so patience is key — expect about a 20 to 25-minute wait. One of my favorite discoveries was their creamy shakshuka paired with original sea salt butter bread, which was fluffy and packed with rich flavors. Their mentaiko torched cheese tamago egg mayo bagel sandwich offers a sinful, indulgent taste but be ready for a messy yet rewarding bite. For something sweet and refreshing, the strawberry matcha cake tart and strawberry mochi milk latte are exceptional choices that balance subtle sweetness perfectly. Their drinks menu is just as creative — the pure pistachio milk latte stands out, though its richness might be intense for some. Watching them handcraft mochi from scratch during your visit adds a unique touch to the experience. Since the café focuses on limited quantities and exclusive items, trying something new each month keeps the experience fresh and exciting. Follow their social channels for updates on menu changes and service improvements, as they recently increased staff to speed up orders and offer more baked goods. Overall, although the waiting time and limited availability can be a slight downside, the originality and quality of flavors make The Flour Department a must-visit bakery spot in Everton Park for any food enthusiast seeking unique and yummy bakes.
