MY LIST OF BKK’S FIRSTS 🇹🇭💫
it’s been 𝐒𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎 long since i last travelled to thailand, the last was to phuket & i don’t even recall how old am i (𝑖 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑑𝑒𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑣 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑔)
this time i headed to bkk with my 3 other gurlies 👯♀️ (+ 𝑚𝑦 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠!) here’s a lil tmi—initially we planned for taiwan 🇹🇼 in ‘20 but halted due to COVID. since then we have not re-visit the idea of travelling as some of us started work immediately + continued studies etc. fast forward 4 years later…we settled for somewhere that’s cheap & still fun—thailand!
it was a 5 day trip & here’s the things i got to experience for the first time ✨
1️⃣ 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐊 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐄𝐓 + 𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐔𝐄 𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐋
immediately after touch down, we handed our luggages over to the hotel & went straight for CTC! reached @ 330pm, had lunch there from the food stalls, explored around & visit 𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐔𝐄 too til late evening
2️⃣ 𝐉𝐎𝐃𝐃 𝐅𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐒
sooo crowded here due to the different variety of stalls! manage to shop for items & dabao-ed food there back to hotel for dinner! feels similar to CTC but has more modern vibes
3️⃣ 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐎’𝐒 𝐏𝐎𝐏-𝐔𝐏 𝐄𝐗𝐇𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
went on 8/7 & unfortunately most of the merch & all exclusives were sold out ☹️ (𝑏𝑓 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚 𝐻𝐴𝐻𝐴) but the exhibition was still pretty cool to look at
4️⃣ 𝐊𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐀 𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐍
been dreaming of getting it done in bkk where it’s 𝐒𝐎 𝐃𝐈𝐑𝐓 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐏!!! unfortunately i only did pedi as i work f&b, while my friend did mani! 💅🏻 despite the language barrier, they were so gentle, friendly & sweet! 🥰
5️⃣ 𝐃𝐀𝐃𝐃𝐘 & 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐂𝐋𝐄 𝐀𝐂𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐘
as a stationery lover (& ℎ𝑜𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑟) this place’s a heaven ☁️ been seeing it all over social media & finally so happy to get to visit!
6️⃣ 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍
home country of the revolutionary brand! would like to cop a bag but the prices gave me a big fat ❌ sign but bought the sliders instead! 🩴
7️⃣ 𝐓𝐔𝐊 𝐓𝐔𝐊
we rode once back to the hotel as we were so tired from walking around the malls & it’s difficult to call a cab @ 𝐒𝐈𝐀𝐌 𝐒𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐄…with all the heavy jam. so we decided to just ride tuk tuk, it was indeed a fun & exhilarating ride! 😆
8️⃣ 𝐁𝐈𝐆 𝐂
such a eye-opening experience, it was sooo crowded even tho it was so late at night. definitely felt like a adult’s playground w so many stuff 🤯 but i did not buy much snacks HAHA
9️⃣ 𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐘
will do another post on this - cause it deserves! but everything was super yummy & aesthetic

📍 𝐕𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐀 have never done this before & honestly…so relaxing & soothing~ money well spent here 💰 will honestly do this more often if SG even has this kind of price 🤡
⭐ 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐈𝐅𝐅 𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐒
such as platinum mall, siam square, centralwOrld, emsphere, union mall etc etc
unfortunately did not manage to cop anything @ 📍 𝐁𝐔𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐑 even tho we were @ the mall, only managed to see it up close as it has a loooong ass Q…but when i’m back next time, i hope to visit butter bear & visit more cafes! 🧈☕

Exploring Bangkok beyond the well-trodden paths was a highlight for me. While the bustling markets were fun, I found the local massages and spas offered a unique way to unwind after a full day of sightseeing. The price and quality contrast compared to other countries surprised me in a good way, especially places like Kantima Salon and the Vangvela hair spa. I also discovered that Bangkok’s culinary scene extends far beyond street food stalls. While I was initially drawn to famous pastry shops like Holiday Pastry, I realized the best way to enjoy the city's food culture is to try small dishes at night markets and hidden cafes scattered around malls like Platinum and Siam Square. Though I missed out on some spots like Butter Bear due to long queues, I look forward to visiting them next time. For anyone planning a trip, I recommend balancing shopping with experiencing these local wellness places and trying to catch pop-up exhibitions and local creative spaces like Hirono’s showcase. These spots let you dive deeper into contemporary Thai culture while giving your feet a break from the market crowds. Lastly, traveling with a group that includes family and friends made the trip all the more meaningful and enjoyable. Don’t hesitate to book a tuk tuk ride in busy areas — it’s a unique and fun way to get around, even amidst the traffic jams. Bangkok mixes the traditional with the modern in the most exciting ways, and every visit feels like discovering a new city.
