"The Hazel Tears of the Bond-Servant"
💝 The Gift: A Divine Valentine
The Lord’s acts of mercy indeed do not end, for His compassions do not fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
Father, Your mercies are a relentless dawn. You bury my transgressions in the deepest seas of Your forgetfulness, erasing the habits and failures we are still repairing together.
Every single morning, You look at me with brand-new eyes.
Who loves like this? Why do You do it?
Sometimes my actions suggest I don’t even know You. I fail to listen. I fail to obey. Yet, here You are, waiting. Are You lonely for me, Lord? I offer myself to You. Let me be Your servant, or a bond-servant bound by love.
I want to be Your friend, but I whisper to myself: Do I know You enough?
I want to be Your everything. But the oldest lie in my heart whispers that I am not worthy. I confess that sometimes I have loved You with my fingers crossed behind my back—hoping You wouldn't notice my flaws, hoping I could just get lucky.
But You don't do luck. You do Truth. And the truth is, I will never deserve this.
Jesus, Man of Sorrows, You have out-sorrowed my pain. You showed me the deepest blue eyes of heaven, and I long to show You my hazel ones—but right now, they are drowning in tears.
Tears purely for You.
You are the only one who can walk this path perfectly, but please, take me along.
I will be Your friend, Your servant, Your anything, if You will just take me in. But You must teach me how to love You before we even begin.
This raw, aching cry is my lament for today. I hope it pleases You, King, because right now, it is all I have left to give.
Praise You. In Your name, Amen.🌟

It was written to empty your heart of heavy guilt so that He could fill it with divine, unexplainable love.I pray you find it leading you to God's eternal faithfulness. vdH

Lamentations 3:22-23
"The Lord’s acts of mercy indeed do not end, For His compassions do not fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness."
In my own journey of faith, I have found that embracing God's mercy daily is a transformative experience. Like the author’s poignant depiction of God's mercies being new every morning, I have learned that no mistake or failure is too great to separate me from His unfailing compassion. The idea of being a "bond-servant bound by love" resonates deeply because it challenges the common misconception that serving God requires perfection. Instead, it’s about surrendering with an open heart, flaws and all. What strikes me most is the raw honesty expressed in the longing to be both a friend and servant of God despite feelings of unworthiness. This reminds me of moments when I wrestled with doubts about my spiritual adequacy. Yet, reflecting on scriptures like Lamentations 3:22-23 brings comfort—the Lord’s compassion never ends, and His faithfulness is unwavering. This realization renewed my hope during seasons of doubt and guilt. The imagery of "hazel tears" symbolizes a deeply personal lament that many believers can relate to—a cry not of despair but of intimate love and surrender. Such vulnerability can lead to spiritual growth, as it invites God’s presence more fully into our lives. Experiencing this kind of relationship requires patience and a willingness to learn how to love God beyond conditions. For anyone struggling to connect with God or feeling the weight of imperfection, this reflection provides a beautiful reminder that God’s love is a supernatural romance based on grace, not merit. It encourages us to cast aside the illusion that intimacy with God demands flawless performance and instead embrace His daily mercy as a fresh start. Ultimately, walking this path means trusting that even when we stumble, God’s eyes still look on us with compassion and fresh mercy, guiding us step by step into deeper love and faithfulness.
