Jesus and Him Crucified

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 NASB

"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. [21] He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

How then might we be "reconciled to God?"

👇👇👇

Colossians 1:19-20 NASB

"For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, [20] and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross."

We CAN'T reconcile ourselves to God. There's nothing from us that is worthy of the Father's favor. We may only submit ourselves to the reconciliation God freely offers through Christ and his FINISHED work at the cross. God made a way, through his Son, to make peace with us, despite how evil we have been or how terrible we can become, through the blood of Jesus on the cross.

It is the obedience of Christ to submit to the cross and not our own obedience that saves us and goes on saving us. That's the gospel folks. Christ and him crucified.

... Read moreReflecting on the profound message of reconciliation through Jesus Christ’s crucifixion, I am continually amazed at how this divine act addresses the deepest separation between humanity and God. Unlike any human effort or good deed, it is the obedience and sacrifice of Christ on the cross that opens the door to peace with God. This means that no matter how flawed or broken we feel, God's grace through Jesus' blood allows us to be made right with Him. The scriptures quoted, especially 2 Corinthians 5:21 and Colossians 1:19-20, highlight this truth clearly: God made Jesus—who was sinless—to become sin on our behalf so that we could receive His righteousness. Living in a world where many of us strive by our own strength to earn favor or fix what’s broken in our lives, it’s a humbling and freeing realization to know that reconciliation with God is a gift. It's not about our works but about submitting ourselves to this grace, accepting Christ's finished work at the cross. Personally, embracing this truth has transformed how I face challenges and personal failure. Instead of guilt and self-condemnation, I find peace and hope in knowing that Jesus’ sacrifice has already made atonement for my shortcomings. This frees me to live by faith, constantly relying on His grace rather than my efforts. For anyone struggling with self-worth or wondering how to bridge the gap to God, the message of Christ and Him crucified offers a clear and powerful answer. It calls us to receive the reconciliation God freely offers, assured by the love and obedience of Christ on the cross. This divine exchange—sin for righteousness—remains the heart of the gospel. Sharing and reflecting on this can deepen our faith community and encourage others to embrace the peace made possible through Jesus.
