Why I modded my 3DS 🎮
Well, technically, it’s my boyfriend’s 3DS, but he doesn’t use it anymore 🤭
I wanted to buy one of those retro consoles, but after doing some research, I found that I couldn’t play some of the games I wanted to. I read that it would be easier to play them by modding a 3DS, so I went for it.
It was easy and quick! Love to be able to play my childhood games 🤍

Modding a Nintendo 3DS is a fantastic way to unlock the potential of this handheld console, particularly for retro gaming enthusiasts. By modding, users can play a plethora of games that might not be available on modern platforms. One major benefit is the ability to access a vast library of classic games from franchises like Animal Crossing, ensuring a nostalgic gaming experience that many childhood gamers crave. Furthermore, the 3DS modding process has been made accessible to a larger audience due to the availability of user-friendly tools and guides. Newcomers can enhance their consoles by installing custom firmware, which enables them to play ROMs without the need for original cartridges. This not only saves money but also grants access to hard-to-find games that are often sought after. Some popular titles include 'Angry Birds Trilogy' and unique games that were released exclusively in North America. It's important to note that while modding can extend the lifespan and utility of the console, it also comes with certain risks. Users should be aware of potential warranty voids and the legal implications of using ROMs. Therefore, it’s advisable to ensure compliance with gaming laws and regulations while enjoying the expanded features. Just remember to back up any essential data before proceeding with any modifications, as some alterations can result in permanent changes to your system.
