guess the rule!!!!

2024/7/24 Edited to

... Read moreHey Lemon8 fam! So, you landed here because you're trying to figure out what 'guess the rule' means, right? Or maybe you're just curious about the solution to this specific skincare puzzle! I totally get it – these games are super addictive and really get your brain working. When I first saw this 'guess the rule' challenge, I was stumped for a bit, but that's what makes it so much fun! The basic idea behind any 'guess the rule' game, especially one like this using visuals, is to find the hidden commonality among the items that are "in" (checked) and distinguish them from the items that are "out" (crossed). It's all about observation and pattern recognition. You have to look beyond the obvious. For skincare products, your first thought might be brand, or perhaps product type – like if it's a toner versus a serum. But usually, the rule is a bit more subtle than that. When I was playing through this one, I kept looking at all the different skincare products. I saw everything from pink toner bottles, white serum bottles with pink caps, and even grey stick blushes. Then there were teal and orange moisturizer jars, pink liquid blushes, white and pink hand sanitizer sprays, and red facial spray bottles. So many options! I tried to see if it was about color, but that didn't seem consistent. Then I wondered if it was about the type of product – like only makeup items, or only hydrating products. But that didn't fit the checkmarks either. My breakthrough came when I started focusing on the *packaging*. I looked carefully at the form of each product. Was it a jar, a tube, a stick, or a bottle? And if it was a bottle, what kind of bottle? Was it opaque or transparent? That's when the 'clear bottle' rule suddenly clicked for me! Think about it: in the first set, a pink toner bottle got a checkmark – it's clear! But the white serum bottle with a pink cap, grey stick blush, and beige lip balm tube all got crosses. None of those are clear bottles. Then, in another set, a pink liquid blush with a gold top got a checkmark – again, delivered in a clear bottle! Similarly, a white and pink hand sanitizer spray (often clear) got a checkmark, while a teal and orange moisturizer jar and a red facial spray bottle (which might be opaque) got crosses. Even the yellow body mist spray and clear micellar water bottle with a blue cap got checkmarks in another round – both clear bottles! But the green and pink blush stick and the yellow square container with a smiley face got crosses. It’s amazing how once you know the rule, it seems so obvious! The key is to systematically eliminate possibilities and really zoom in on the details. So, if you're ever playing another 'guess the rule' game, here are my top tips: Examine everything closely: Don't just glance. Look at colors, shapes, textures, and especially the material and transparency of packaging. Consider whether it's a dropper bottle, spray bottle, pump lotion bottle, or a simple jar. Consider multiple attributes: If one idea doesn't fit, try another. Is it about function? Size? Brand? Or in our case, the physical characteristics of the item itself like being a 'clear bottle'? Look for patterns in both 'ins' and 'outs': What do the checked items all have in common? What do the crossed items all lack? The contrast is often the biggest clue. Don't overthink it: Sometimes the simplest rule is the correct one. I hope this helps you understand the 'guess the rule' concept better and gives you a good strategy for solving them in the future! It's a fantastic way to sharpen your observation skills and even learn a thing or two about identifying different types of skincare products and their packaging. Who knew playing a game could be so insightful? Keep an eye out for more fun challenges like this!
