Best Camera for beginning creators/videographers?
First 24hrs:
After doing some looooong research I decided to purchase the Sony ZV-E10!
It’s an ASPC camera which means it’s cropped, but still ok for my use cases ; vlogging, street videography, YouTube videos.
It’s 4k which is Amazing at the price point
The body is lightweight and compact so it fits in my sling back perfectly!
I’m going to fully build it out and see if I can make this my main professional camera rig as a go to see if this will turn into more than just a hobby.
I’ve seen some really cinematic and nice looking professional work from this camera and I can’t wait to try it out!
I’m taking it out today and I’ll make a review post on if this is everything it’s hyped up!
Anyone else have this?- how do you like it? Any tips on how to get the best quality?

Getting my hands on the Sony ZV-E10 felt like a huge step in my content creation journey, and honestly, one of the biggest draws for me was its highly praised flip-out screen. As a beginner, the idea of being able to see myself while filming was a game-changer, and after my first 24 hours with it, I can confirm it absolutely lives up to the hype for vlogging and general content creation. First off, let's talk about why a flip screen is so crucial, especially for solo creators like myself. Before this, I’d often find myself guessing if I was in frame, if my focus was sharp, or if my composition was off. The ZV-E10’s fully articulating, side-mounted flip-out screen eliminates all that guesswork. Whether I’m sitting down for a YouTube video, walking around for street videography, or just doing a quick vlog update, I can confidently monitor my shot in real-time. This isn't just about vanity; it's about making sure the story I'm trying to tell is captured exactly how I envision it. During my initial setup and test runs, the flip-out screen extended to the side proved incredibly beneficial for vlogging. I quickly learned to adjust my angles on the fly, ensuring I was always centered and well-lit. For instance, when experimenting with different shooting heights, from low-angle creative shots to eye-level talking head segments, being able to swivel the screen around made the process seamless. It’s far superior to cameras with fixed or even tilt-only screens, which often leave you guessing or awkwardly craning your neck. Here are a few practical tips I picked up immediately for maximizing the flip screen's potential: Touch Focus: The touch-sensitive screen isn't just for navigating menus. You can tap to focus on yourself, or on an object you're presenting, which is incredibly useful when you're both the subject and the cameraperson. Audio Monitoring: While the ZV-E10 has great built-in audio, I'm already planning to build out my setup with an external microphone, similar to what's often shown with the camera. The flip screen allows me to easily check not just my visual framing but also my audio levels if I connect headphones, ensuring perfect sound quality. You can see how the microphone shown on the box pairs perfectly with the hot shoe, allowing seamless integration while the screen is flipped out. Creative Angles: Don't just use it for self-monitoring. Flip it down for overhead shots, or outward for interviews where your subject can see themselves. It opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities. This compact and lightweight camera, combined with its intuitive flip screen, truly makes it an outstanding choice for beginning creators. It empowers you to create more professional-looking content without needing a full crew. Knowing that I can instantly review my shots and make adjustments has boosted my confidence significantly. It's clear why the Sony ZV-E10 is so hyped for vlogging and content creation – its flip screen is undeniably a key feature making it so user-friendly and effective.
