Horse back riding is cute and all until you’re in a situation that makes you think fast and one mistake can be dangerous or even fatal.
The ALL-Women Gabalgata taking place in Fresno, CA is for experienced riders ONLY. There will not be any horse back riding lessons or some one to hold on to your horse while you ride.
You can come and take pictures with DESIGNATED horses after the ride, during the main event. Main event is open to all women.
Participating in the ALL-Women Gabalgata requires not just skill but also quick thinking and confidence, as the event does not offer horseback riding lessons or assistance. I once experienced a scare similar to one captured in a popular POV video where the rider’s foot slipped out of the stirrup, causing a dangerous slide to the side. Moments like these remind riders that safety and awareness are paramount. For seasoned riders, the Gabalgata is a remarkable opportunity to test and sharpen your riding skills in a supportive, all-female environment. The excitement of the event is heightened by the knowledge that you are navigating the horse independently, without holding or support, which demands full concentration and balance. After the ride, there’s a unique chance to relax and take photos with designated horses during the main event, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all women attendees. Whether you’re there to ride or simply to celebrate the bold spirit of women riders, this event combines community and challenge beautifully. If you're considering taking part in future Gabalgata events, I recommend practicing emergency maneuvers and improving your overall horse control beforehand. It's also beneficial to wear appropriate riding gear to minimize injury risk and to stay calm and composed throughout the ride. The sense of accomplishment and camaraderie gained from such an empowering event is truly rewarding.
