March Reading Savings & YTD Totals

March reading recap, but budget-friendly!

This month I read 16 books, including one ARC and one gifted copy, which meant zero cost for those reads. Using library access and comparing to retail prices, I saved a total of $183.78 in March alone.

That brings my year-to-date book savings to $439.80, and honestly, it just reinforces how valuable the library has been for me. I’m still able to keep up with my reading goals, explore new releases, and stay consistent without the cost adding up.

I already have a strong TBR lined up for April, and I’m so grateful to have a library that supports my reading habit like this.

If you’re trying to read more without spending more, this is your reminder to fully use your library.

... Read moreUsing the library as a primary source for books can dramatically reduce your reading expenses, as I experienced this March. Beyond just saving money, the library offers access to a wide range of titles, including new releases, ARCs, and genres from romance to sci-fi and thrillers. Many libraries now provide digital borrowing options, making it even easier to expand your reading list without stepping outside. In my personal journey, tracking savings — like the $183.78 saved in March and $439.80 year-to-date — has motivated me to stay consistent with my reading goals. It’s not just about the money saved but also about the freedom to explore more authors and stories. Gifted books and ARCs complement library usage by adding fresh content without costing a dime. For readers trying to grow their book collection on a budget, I encourage fully utilizing the library system. It’s a community resource that supports lifelong learning and curiosity. Plus, planning a TBR list ahead, like I did for April, helps keep your reading focused and enjoyable. Remember, reading more without spending more is achievable with a little strategy, patience for holds, and embracing various book formats offered by libraries.
