save this because your nighttime routine is either healing you or hurting you and nobody told you which one you were doing.

you are scrolling your phone right up until you fall asleep. the blue light suppresses melatonin and the content keeps your nervous system activated when it desperately needs to wind down.

you are eating late at night. your body cannot rest and repair when it is still trying to digest. your cortisol stays elevated and your sleep suffers for it.

you are watching stressful or overstimulating content before bed. true crime, news, intense shows. your nervous system cannot tell the difference between a threat on screen and a real one.

you are going to bed at a different time every night. inconsistent sleep destroys your cortisol rhythm and makes every single symptom you are dealing with significantly worse.

you are sleeping with your phone next to your bed. the notifications, the light, the low level awareness that it is there all keep your nervous system from fully dropping into rest.

you are not giving yourself any transition time between your day and your sleep. you are going from full speed to pillow and wondering why you cannot shut your brain off.

your body does its most important hormonal work while you sleep.

if your sleep is broken your hormones are broken.

and it starts with what you do before you close your eyes.

follow me and comment HORMONES below and I will share what I personally changed that made the biggest difference. 🤍

... Read moreFrom my personal experience, transforming my nighttime routine was a game changer for hormonal balance and overall wellness. I used to scroll endlessly on my phone right before bed, unaware that the blue light was suppressing my melatonin and keeping my nervous system on high alert. Switching to a screen-free hour before sleep, and reading a book instead, helped me fall asleep faster and sleep more deeply. I also noticed how eating late at night was messing with my digestion and leaving me restless. Gradually moving my dinner to earlier in the evening gave my body time to properly digest and recover. This significantly lowered my nighttime cortisol levels, reducing my feelings of anxiety and midnight waking. Avoiding stressful or intense content before bed was another important change. I swapped true crime and news for calming podcasts or gentle music, which helped soothe my nervous system. Establishing a consistent bedtime — going to sleep and waking up at the same time daily — helped reset my cortisol rhythm, improving my energy and mood throughout the day. Finally, putting my phone on 'Do Not Disturb' and out of the bedroom eliminated disruptive notifications and light that previously prevented me from achieving full rest. The last 30 minutes before sleep truly set the stage for your body’s hormonal restoration overnight. By creating a relaxing and consistent wind-down routine, I was able to repair my sleep patterns and hormonal health, which made a huge difference in how I felt every morning. If you’re dealing with sleep issues or hormonal imbalances, try incorporating these habits — it may just be the missing piece in your wellness journey.
