Sharing my own experience, I’ve found that the struggle between wanting to see justice and needing to forgive is very real and personal. Like many, I’ve wrestled with feelings of hurt caused by betrayal or disrespect. What helped me was embracing the perspective that forgiveness is primarily a gift I give myself to free my heart, rather than something I owe the other person. It's natural to feel that small spark of desire to witness karma or divine consequences unfold — it’s almost like sitting front-row with popcorn, watching a 'Divine Pay-Per-View.' But the mature part is learning to detach from the timing and method of that justice. Instead, focusing on my own path of obedience, moving forward with a peaceful heart, and praying for those who have wronged me brought me unexpected peace. The reminder from Romans 12:19, "Vengeance is mine; I will repay," has been a grounding scripture in my journey. It encouraged me to stop carrying the burden of retaliation and instead trust in God's timing. This trust doesn't come quickly or easily, but it becomes a practice requiring patience and faith over feelings. I’ve also learned that forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting or excusing harmful actions—it means choosing not to let those actions control my emotional state. Mindfully moving on and wishing well to others, even when they don’t deserve it from a human perspective, helps to create emotional space for personal growth. If, by chance, life presents a moment where consequences appear visible, I’m learning to receive it with grace rather than satisfaction. Because ultimately, my peace comes from releasing control and respecting the process of divine justice rather than demanding to see it first-hand.
