Brands I Used to Buy VS Now

My frequency to shop has drastically decreased now with a kid and as I get older, quality and lifespan of clothes/accessories are significant and key to a wardrobe that will last me a long time without getting bored of it (who am i kidding though). I am also one who buys a top/bottom in the same design but in different colours.

//Brands I used to buy

Bershka

I buy from them a lot during my late teen years because some of their clothes are affordable (less than 20) and i purchase them during their sales.

Love and Bravery

Their designs are pretty but a tad too feminine for me and I'm far from feminine.

The Tinsel Rack

They do have some decent collections but their designs are not suitable for me especially people my age haha.

Cotton On

Also during my late teens and early 20s, they were affordable like 2 tops for $20 but not anymore though. I don't buy anything else from them other than those 2 or 3 pieces for a decent price.

The Editors Market

I used to love it as they had an affordable price system, the more you buy, the cheaper a piece of clothing is. They no longer have that anymore though their pricing is still decent for most pieces. Con is I can't really fit into their pants because i got smaller waist but chunkier thigh so their bottoms are always loose on the waist but tight around the thigh area.

Pull and Bear

Honestly I don't even step into this place anymore. The designs just gets worse with time even youngsters these days don't buy from there.

SHEIN

Also got them during my late teens or early 20s. Besides the price, their material and quality is basically shit and I had a shirt that gave me itch whenever i wore it. Few years later read an article that they used a lot of chemicals in their fabrics. This brand is a big NO for me ❌️

//Brands I buy (and love) now

Lovet

They have mother and child twinning sets so HECK YES 🤣

Klarra

On the pricier end but quality is pretty decent and demure~ Also has mother and child twinning sets. I'm a sucker for these!

H&M

I get clothes for R here too as they offer organic cotton options and super affordable!

From There On

There are several pieces that I got last year but I love the cutting of their pants, I wear them almost every week.

Nothing Fits But

So I've gotten a few pieces of maternity wear from this place but still wear it now, just so versatile like that. They are on the pricier end too but GORGEOUS.

Something to Hold

I only got 1 piece of clothing from here, wished I could have gotten more! I have their Teacake skirt, soo light and comfortable.

Uniqlo

I get clothes for R here too and I LIVE FOR PADDED TANK TOPS from Uniqlo. I literally got no time to look for a bra nowadays and Uniqlo just has the most affordable and simple padded tank tops i can just slip into one and go about my day. I get them in different colours but same design 🌚

Love Bonito

Mainstream but their quality is awesome. Also offers padded tops/dresses!

If you've got any other recommendations please let me know!

Check out my small biz! @thepatchthings 🩶

... Read moreAs we transition through different life stages, our shopping habits often change. In youth, affordability might take precedence, leading to purchases from brands like Bershka and SHEIN, known for their trendy but often low-quality offerings. However, as responsibilities grow, particularly with motherhood, a deeper understanding of clothing quality becomes essential. This shift emphasizes the significance of investing in pieces that not only elevate style but also ensure durability. Brands like Lovet and Klarra stand out with their mother-child twinning sets, providing both stylish options and practicality. Furthermore, H&M’s commitment to sustainable practices with organic cotton aligns perfectly with the growing trend of mindful spending. From versatile pieces at Uniqlo to the chic offerings from Love Bonito, the modern wardrobe reflects an evolving ethos that prioritizes quality and thoughtful craftsmanship. Ultimately, this narrative serves as a reminder that as our lives grow more complex, so too should our wardrobe choices, shifting from quantity to investing in pieces that last.
