The ending of this book made me feel like I was experiencing my first heartbreak all over again. My heart genuinely hurts. This book is everything younger me imagined and I wouldn't change a thing about it.
This books adds so much to the lore of Pixie Hollow, giving us a look on not only the past of this kingdom but how their rulers are chosen and how the cycle of talents go in and out with time. We also get a huge expansion on Winter fairies and the season of winter as a whole.
Seeing this inexperienced and young version of Clarion adds so much to her character in the movies and explains why she seems to know the fairies in the Tinkerbelle movies so well while being so distant. You get to see her fight for not only herself but to protect her people, putting her life on the line for them and for love.
Milori. My sweet boy Milori! Men don’t yearn like they used to. Milori is the definition of the perfect man. Nothing in my mind could change this. From the very beginning he showed he would do anything for Clarion, and not because of her position of power.
Ugh. The worst part of this book was knowing that at the end they weren’t going to work out, and somewhere in this story I forgotten that, which made the separation so much worse, I almost cried.
The first thing I did after finishing this was rewatching Secret of the Wings, just to rub salt into the wound.
