first time trying bagels..
dragged my bestie out just to try these viral bagels with me for the first time — here are my thoughts!

☕️ interior
• the inside of the store itself was quite small (could fit about 4 groups and a few solos) but overall gave pretty cozy vibes! they have outdoor seating too if that’s your thing~ but love the hole in the wall concept!!
• there are charging ports at certain seats / tables if you want to come and do work! we came at about 2pm on a friday afternoon and there were still empty seats around us~~

🥯 Backyard Birdie ($15.90)
• comes with a fried chicken patty, scrambled eggs, pickles, onions and homemade sauce
• me and my bestie each ordered one of these, but honestly, we should’ve just ordered one to share😭😭 we each ate half and bagged the other halves for dinner… the bagels themselves were super thick — it was my first time having bagels and HONESTLY, it didn’t really stand out to me… like i didn’t see why people would rather have bagels over normal burger buns… but maybe it’s js me..
• the fried chicken was nice and thick, pretty crispy and well seasoned! it had a nice soft kick to it, was flavourful and satisfying to eat. i tried the scrambled eggs by themselves and they were a bit tasteless :” but when paired with the fried chicken the flavour of the chicken does help to elevate the eggs slightly! the eggs were cooked nicely, not rubbery or tough to eat. i think the onions provided a nice crunch and taste to the overall bagel!
• overall, pretty worth your money since the portions are quite big (can feed two meals..) but it rly isn’t anything too special

🍟 chicken salt fries ($10.90)
• good lord…. i’m not a very big fan of thicker cut fries because i like my fries a bit crispier and usually thicker fries are a bit softer or soggier BUT THIS! the fries were the right amount of crispy and well cooked, and the seasoning omg…. it was soooo nicely salted and there was a bit of extra seasoning (i’m assuming it was the chicken salt) that made it unlike your typical fries… these were super addicting i kept munching on this instead of on my bagel😭 really enjoyed this as a side!! portion was nice for the two of us to share too

• quite a nice quiet cafe to come with friends and chat over a meal! i think the prices can be daunting for bagels but the portion sizes are really quite big, can consider sharing if you come with friends!
• my mind definitely wasn’t blown, and i don’t think i’ll come back and get the same bagel.. but!!! i would love to come back for the fries and to try their other bagels in the future and will probably do so!! (the spicy one is next on my list…)

If you’re curious about other bagel spots in Bugis, it’s worth comparing Wooly's offerings to those from home-based pre-order places like Out of Office Bagels or popular names like Bagel Maniac to find your preferred texture and flavor style. Overall, Wooly's Bagels presents solid value with generous portion sizes at reasonable prices, making it a good cafe choice whether you’re looking for a casual bite or a place to hang out with friends.
