Went twice in one week! 🍝🔥 New affordable Italian gem at Plaza Singapura

If you haven’t heard yet, there’s a gorgeous new Italian spot that just opened at Plaza Singapura called Tavola Aperta, and let me tell you—it’s so good that I literally went back twice in a single week! 😍

The space itself is so chic and cozy with warm lighting, but let's talk about the food. Everything we tried was an absolute hit, and the best part? It won't break the bank! 💸

The first time I went, we had:

Vongole Pasta & Prawn Pasta: The clams in the Vongole soaked up all that wonderful garlic and wine broth. Meanwhile, the prawn pasta in the background came topped with massive, juicy prawns and rich, umami-packed noodles. 🦐

The Ultimate Tiramisu: We ended on a major sweet note with their massive tiramisu log dusted with cocoa powder and crunchy toasted hazelnuts. Creamy, decadent, and totally worth every calorie. 🍰✨

And the second round, I feasted on:

Classic Margherita Pizza & Fritto Misto: That pizza crust was blistered to perfection with a super flavorful tomato base and fresh basil. We paired it with an addictive basket of crispy, light Fritto Misto featuring whitebait, served with herbs and a creamy dipping sauce. 🍕🐟

If you're craving some proper comfort Italian food around town, this needs to be on your radar. Run, don't walk! 🏃‍♀️💨

... Read moreHaving visited Tavola Aperta twice in a week really gave me a solid perspective on their menu and vibe. The first visit introduced me to their Vongole Pasta, where the clams were wonderfully fresh and bathed in a fragrant garlic and white wine broth, giving it that authentic Italian comfort feel. The Prawn Pasta was equally impressive, with large succulent prawns sitting atop flavorsome noodles that felt rich but not overwhelming. What stood out on both visits was how the restaurant balanced quality with affordability—a rare find in Plaza Singapura’s bustling food scene. The Ultimate Tiramisu was a highlight; creamy, layered with just the right hint of cocoa and a delightful crunch from toasted hazelnuts. It felt like a true indulgence but still approachable in portion size. On the second outing, I couldn’t resist ordering their classic Margherita Pizza, which was a treat with its blistered crust, bright tomato sauce, and fresh basil—each bite encompassing simple yet perfected flavors. The Fritto Misto, featuring crispy whitebait with herbs and a creamy dipping sauce, was a light and addictive starter that complemented the pizza perfectly. What makes Tavola Aperta stand out, beyond just the delicious food, is its chic yet cozy atmosphere with warm lighting that invites relaxed dining. Whether you’re looking for a casual date spot or a comforting meal after a day of shopping, this gem is definitely worth a visit. The use of fresh seafood like clams and whitebait and generous portions of prawn show their commitment to quality. I’ll certainly be returning to explore more dishes on their menu.
