Last year in my 30’s

When I was a child I wanted to get older, now that I’m getting older I would love to be younger. As soon as I turned 25, I felt that I was too old already. I suddenly felt like life was too short and that time passes by in a snap of a finger. Before I knew it I turned 39.

Maybe approaching my mom’s age when she passed is the cause of my trauma. I thought she was old, but as I’m getting close to her age, I realize she wasn’t that old. She always dreamed of turning 50, but she will forever be 41. I learned to not take life for granted and to appreciate the people I care about around me for we never know when it will be the last time.

I always try to see the positive as much as I can, but I’m only human. People mistake my kindness for weakness, but I chose my battles and process things more cautiously, because one thing I’ve learned is to not assume. When I do thunder, I become unrecognizable, but I only mirror.
