What’s the best way to speed up my old laptop?
Hi all, I have had an HP ENVY x360 for about 5 years now and it has recently started to slow down dramatically in the past year. I’m looking to purchase a new one, but until then, I still need to use this laptop for daily video editing.
What’s the best way to revive the speed of this laptop? I don’t want to spend too much money on it at this point if I’m getting a new one. Also, do I even need a new one? Can I get more life out of this one with a few proper maintenance tasks and upgrades?

because laptops are so compact, it's expensive to upgrade/replace parts. desktops are better and cheaper for upgrades. You would spend more than half of the price for a new laptop just for upgrades. the cheapest thing to do is get an iPad or tablet for school/work/everyday. If you play video games, just get a desktop.
