Miscarriage & Staying Connected as a Couple 🤍

The Couples Playbook — Part 2 🤍

Everyone grieves in their own way.

You might need space while your partner wants to talk. One of you might want to keep busy, while the other needs time to sit with everything.

But while you're processing your grief differently, it's important to find ways to grieve together too.

Being on the same page and understanding what you're both going through can help stop the distance before it starts.

Remember, you are still a team. 🤍

Sometimes staying connected doesn't mean having a big conversation. It can be sitting together, holding each other, having a cry, or being close without needing to say anything.

If you haven't already, you might find it comforting to give your baby a name. There's no right or wrong way to remember them. What matters is finding something meaningful to both of you.

Your way of remembering can be anything from planting a small tree to creating a memory box or even getting matching tattoos.

And my personal favourite is the tree.

Plant a small tree in memory of your baby. Add letters, thoughts and messages to the branches whenever you want to.

You might write when you're missing your baby, when a thought comes to you, or simply when you need somewhere for your feelings to go.

Over time, you'll have something you've created as a team, filled with all the words you wanted to say — somewhere you can find a little peace and comfort.

You don't have to grieve in the same way or have all the right words. Just try not to lose sight of each other while you're both finding your way through the loss.

You're still a team. And you're going through this together. 🤍

We're also working on a miscarriage, pregnancy loss & grief support guide, coming soon to our website, with more ideas, resources and support for couples going through pregnancy loss together.

The Couples Playbook — because sometimes you don't need someone to tell you how to feel. You just need reminding that you're not feeling it alone. 🤍

Helping your wife through a miscarriage

Two years ago today I miscarried. Although I was not far along, it was still heart wrenching. I spent the first week in complete shock and the second week crying. I was absolutely devastated. I do not know if the baby was a boy or a girl but I felt in my heart he was a boy so I named him Benito
