Become a Wellness Creator

If you want to become a wellness content creator or you’re simply passionate about health and would love to monetize this passion of yours, you’ve come to the right place. As a full time wellness content creator with a small following, I’ve learned SO much about how to monetize social media in the past couple years.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Define your niche: Wellness is a really broad topic, so it’s great to narrow it in, at least to start. There will always be room to branch out, but I think that laser focus in the beginning is super beneficial. For instance, I focus on holistic herbal wellness, fitness, and clean beauty/hygeine.

2. Get picky with your values: One mistake I often see when people are starting out is accepting collabs with anyone. You don’t want to alienate your audience by working with just anyone. It’s extremely important to only work with brands that align with your values, not only so you can build rapport with your audience, but so you can make a positive impact.

3. Start sharing your wellness journey but add VALUE. Don’t just post yourself in the gym or running, or a picture of healthy food on your plate. Make sure you share the WHAT, HOW, and WHY. For instance, I post gym selfies on my story almost every day but I don’t make them about looking good. With my gym selfies, I overlay my actual workout routine so people can actually benefit from my content. If I’m posting a yummy meal or drink, I make sure to share the recipe, products, or restaurant so people know how they can replicate.

4. Start reaching out to platforms and agencies: You can reach out to brands directly, but platforms/agencies are a great place to start because with one contact you can have access to hundreds of potential clients/collabs. Some great ones are:

a. Narrative Ads: ad company that creates UGC with your at home raw footage

b. The Lobby: Influencer platform with tons of brands and options for gifted, view

commission, and flat rate partnerships

c. Flip: Shopping app where you can access free products and create reviews

(anyone can sign up)

d. Beauty Tap: Specifically for beauty/skincare, get access to tons of brands/campaigns that you can apply for

... Read moreBecoming a wellness content creator is truly a journey of sharing your authentic self while inspiring others to live healthier lives. It's more than just posting pretty pictures of smoothies or gym selfies; it's about building a community, educating, and genuinely connecting. From my own experience, the 'meaning' of being a wellness creator evolves as you grow, but at its heart, it's about being a trusted resource and a source of motivation in a sometimes overwhelming health landscape. One of the first, and most crucial, steps is to truly 'Pick your niche'. While the article touches on this, let's dive deeper. Wellness is vast! Instead of just "fitness," consider "prenatal yoga for busy moms," or "plant-based meal prep for shift workers." Think about your unique experiences and what problems you love to solve. What are you genuinely passionate about that you could talk about for hours? Don't be afraid to get super specific; it's easier to stand out in a smaller pond. Your niche isn't just a topic, it's your unique point of view within that topic. When it comes to 'Start sharing + add value!', remember that value comes in many forms. It's not just workout routines or recipes. It could be decoding confusing health studies, sharing your personal struggles and how you overcame them, or even debunking common wellness myths. For instance, if you're a 'health and wellness content creator' focusing on mental well-being, sharing practical coping mechanisms or journaling prompts adds immense value that goes beyond just talking about mental health. Think of your content as a mini-guide for your audience. Monetizing your passion as a 'wellness content creator' goes beyond just brand deals. While 'HOW TO MAKE $ As a wellness content creator' often starts with collaborations, consider diversifying. Have you thought about creating your own digital products like e-books, meal plans, or workout guides? Affiliate marketing, where you earn a commission for recommending products you genuinely love, is another fantastic avenue. Offering one-on-one coaching or workshops can also be incredibly rewarding, allowing you to connect deeper with your audience. Regarding collaborations and your values, the advice to 'Get picky about your Values' is golden. I once almost partnered with a brand whose ingredients list didn't align with my holistic approach, and listening to my gut saved my reputation. Your audience trusts you, and that trust is your most valuable currency. It's okay to say no. In fact, saying no to misaligned brands strengthens your brand identity and shows your community you stand by what you preach. Finally, for those wondering 'how to join a wellness creator network' or are keen to 'Reach out to Platforms + agencies', here's a tip: before you reach out, ensure your media kit is polished. This includes your audience demographics, engagement rates, and examples of your best work. When applying to platforms like The Lobby or Beauty Tap, highlight not just your follower count, but your engagement and the specific value you can bring to their brands. Sometimes, smaller, highly engaged communities are more attractive than large, unengaged ones. Don't underestimate the power of consistent networking within the wellness community itself – often, opportunities arise from connections made with fellow creators. For platforms like TikTok, consistency, trend awareness, and authentic short-form video content are key to growing your reach and attracting potential brand partners.
