Ride the wave
Yes. You recovered it. And you read enough that I can format it cleanly for Lemon8 without changing your wording.
Ride the Wave
What if awakening was never about escaping the human experience?
Maybe we came here to forget enough to become completely immersed in it: to love, lose, wonder, struggle, create, risk, discover, and feel what it means to be alive.
But perhaps we were never meant to stay completely lost in the forgetting.
We remember—not everything, not all at once—just enough to begin seeing through the illusion of separation. Enough to feel our connection to each other, to nature, to life, to something larger than the individual self.
Maybe we're not supposed to stand solemnly on the shore trying to understand the ocean.
We're supposed to get in it. Get knocked off sometimes. Get back on. Have moments when we're completely absorbed in the ride, and moments when we suddenly see the whole ocean.
Maybe consciousness doesn't evolve by reaching the light and staying there.
Maybe it evolves by becoming increasingly skillful at moving through the whole experience.
We fall into the experience.
We wake up inside it.
We fall in again.
Maybe awakening isn't a destination.
Maybe we're learning to ride the wave between individuality and connection, mystery and knowing, darkness and light.
And with every turn, we remember a little more.
One wave of remembering at a time.

In my personal journey with spirituality and consciousness, I've come to resonate deeply with the metaphor of 'riding the wave' as described in this insightful piece. Awakening, I’ve realized, is not a sudden illumination but a gradual process of embracing life’s full spectrum—the joys and sorrows, the clarity and confusion. Rather than striving to escape the complexities of our human experience, I found that true growth comes from immersing oneself in it. We often try to stand on the shore of understanding, analyzing our inner and outer worlds, yet the real transformation happens when we dive into the ocean of experience. This means allowing ourselves to be vulnerable, to get knocked down by challenges, and then rising again with renewed awareness. The piece beautifully highlights the balance between individuality and connection. From my journey, this resonates as the dance between honoring our unique path while recognizing our interconnectedness with others, nature, and a greater whole. Moments of solitude bring self-discovery, while moments of communion remind us of belonging and shared existence. The idea that consciousness evolves not by fixating on the light but by skillfully navigating both darkness and light speaks truly to real-life awakening. It’s been in embracing my shadow aspects, uncertainties, and the unknown that I've experienced the most growth. This ongoing ebb and flow—falling into experience, waking up inside it, and falling in again—is a dynamic reflection of living fully awake. Ultimately, 'one wave of remembering at a time' captures the essence of incremental insight. Awakening is less a destination and more a continuous unfolding. Each life event, challenge, and joy brings a new wave of understanding and connection. For anyone on a similar path, I encourage embracing the ride with all its unpredictability. Surrender to the process, trust that each experience teaches something vital, and remember that being alive is itself a profound spiritual adventure.
