ถ้าช่วงนี้กำลังหา “นิยายไซไฟ แนะนำ” ที่ไม่ได้มีแค่อวกาศเท่ๆ แต่ยังมีปมให้แกะยาวๆ เราขอป้ายยา Nights ยามดาราสิ้นสูญ (3 เล่มจบ) อีกเสียงค่ะ เรื่องนี้เป็นนิยายไซไฟที่อ่านแล้วรู้สึกเหมือนดูซีรีส์สืบสวนในอวกาศ เพราะเขาวางปมเกี่ยวกับ “การล่มสลายของดวงดาว” ไว้เป็นแกนหลัก แล้วค่อยๆ เผยข้อมูลทีละนิดให้เราตามทันแบบห้ามเผลอ สิ่งที่เราชอบมากคือโทนเรื่องมัน “ซับซ้อนแต่ไม่เลอะ” อ่านไปจะเจอทั้งเงื่อนงำของเหตุการณ์ใหญ่ ระบบ/องค์กรที่เกี่ยวข้อง และอดีตของตัวละครที่ค่อยๆ โผล่มาเชื่อมกัน บางจุดเหมือนคนเขียนตั้งใจโยนคำถามให้เราเก็บไว้ก่อน แล้วเฉลยทีหลังแบบสะใจ ใครเป็นสายชอบนิยายไซไฟที่มีพาร์ตสืบสวน + การเมือง/องค์กรหน่อยๆ น่าจะถูกจริต ด้านเลิฟไลน์คือแรงมากในแบบคู่กัดที่โตมาด้วยกัน แล้วดันมาอยู่ฝั่ง “ผู้คุมเรือนจำอวกาศ” ปะทะ “นักโทษแหกคุก” ความสัมพันธ์มันไม่ได้หวานตั้งแต่แรก แต่จะค่อยๆ พัฒนาเพราะต้องเอาตัวรอดและร่วมมือกัน พอเริ่มไว้ใจกันเท่านั้นแหละ จากที่ปากแข็งๆ กลายเป็นดูแลกันจริงจังจนเราเผลอยิ้มเองหลายรอบ (สายจากคู่กัดเป็นคู่รักคือฟินแน่นอน) สำหรับคนที่เพิ่งเริ่มอ่านนิยายไซไฟแล้วกลัวอ่านยาก เราว่าเรื่องนี้อ่านได้เพราะเขาเล่าแบบพาไหลไปกับสถานการณ์ ไม่ได้อัดศัพท์วิทย์หนักๆ จนปวดหัว เทคนิคของเราคืออ่านแบบ “จดจำชื่อองค์กร/เหตุการณ์สำคัญ” ไว้นิดนึง จะตามปมได้สนุกขึ้นมาก แล้วพอขึ้นเล่ม 2-3 จะยิ่งเห็นภาพใหญ่ชัดว่าทำไมอดีตของตัวละครถึงเป็นกุญแจของเรื่องทั้งหมด สรุปแบบคนหานิยายไซไฟแนะนำ: ถ้าชอบอวกาศ ดวงดาว บรรยากาศลึกลับ ปมแน่น และความสัมพันธ์ที่ค่อยๆ จากไม่ถูกกันไปเป็นทีมเดียวกัน (แล้วเลยเถิดไปเป็นคลั่งรัก) Nights ยามดาราสิ้นสูญ คือคุ้มเวลามากค่ะ อ่านจบแล้วอยากหาแนว “นิยายไซไฟ” แบบนี้ต่อทันทีเลย
