41lbs down?

At the beginning of this journey I was 240lbs! I was constantly tired, inflamed & mindlessly eating whatever was around me.

How I Did It???

- I lost 20lbs naturally from a calorie deficit, then my doctor recommended a GLP-1 because I have Insulin Resistance & PCOS. I’ve been taking a GLP-1 since May of 2025 & it’s the best decision I could’ve ever made!

- now at 199lbs I feel lighter, I feel more confident & comfortable in my skin.

GOAL WEIGHT: 140lbs. Leaving me 49lbs to go

... Read moreStarting my weight loss journey at 240lbs felt like a monumental task. I was constantly battling fatigue, feeling inflamed, and found myself mindlessly reaching for whatever food was convenient. It wasn't just about the number on the scale; it was about how I felt physically and mentally. I knew I needed a change, not just a diet, but a complete lifestyle overhaul. Let's talk about how I managed to shed 41lbs and what truly made a difference. My initial approach focused on a calorie deficit, which was a huge first step. I didn't just slash calories; I focused on making smarter food choices. This meant prioritizing lean proteins, plenty of vegetables, and complex carbohydrates to keep me feeling full and energized. I started paying attention to portion sizes and swapped out sugary drinks for water. Meal prepping became my best friend, helping me avoid those impulsive, unhealthy choices when hunger struck. It was challenging, especially in the beginning, but seeing the first 20lbs come off naturally was incredibly motivating. However, I hit a plateau, and that's where my doctor's guidance became crucial. Living with Insulin Resistance and PCOS, weight loss can be particularly stubborn. My doctor recommended a GLP-1 medication, and honestly, it's been a game-changer. Since May 2025, taking a GLP-1 has helped manage my blood sugar levels and significantly reduced my constant cravings. It's not a magic pill, but it acts as a powerful tool, making it easier to stick to my calorie deficit and feel satisfied with smaller, healthier meals. It helped me break free from the cycle of mindless eating and truly listen to my body's hunger cues. The '41lbs down' on my journey wouldn't have been as smooth without this support, especially with the complexities of PCOS. Now, at 199lbs, the difference isn’t just visible in my before and after photos; it’s in every aspect of my life. I feel lighter, my energy levels are soaring, and the chronic inflammation has significantly reduced. More importantly, my confidence has grown immensely. Slipping into a light blue ribbed tank top and feeling comfortable in my own skin, even taking a selfie with my nose ring and arm tattoo showing, is a huge win. My goal is 140lbs, leaving me 49lbs to go, and I feel more equipped than ever to reach it. If you're on a similar journey, remember to consult your doctor, listen to your body, and celebrate every small victory. You've got this!
