Bangkok Design Week | 1 day in the city What is there?

It is known that it can't be missed at all for Bangkok Design Week, a design festival held every year in a historically meaningful neighborhood in Bangkok. This year we have come to see the design in Bangkok, so take the opportunity to tell about the good design and restaurants that should be tried in this area. It can be called a day trip without boredom.

First of all, when you get to Bangkok Design Week, you will have a folding location that tells you the coordinates of the shows and restaurants in the area that we go to. You can go to the area, even when you have a lot to eat and get to know the city area unknowingly.

The first work I want to tell is the Mega Mat (Figure 1-2):

This work was designed by MVRDV, a famous Netherlands architect firm, which tells about the amount of plastic waste through giant multi-colored mats. The outer red color represents 15% of the plastic waste that is unsanitary landfill. Orange represents 52.6% of the plastic waste that is sanitary landfill. Yellow represents 11% of the plastic waste that is not recycled. The green in the middle is 21.4% of the plastic waste that is recycled. It shows the percentage of plastic waste disposal through the plastic waste itself, and then the large mat is woven. Each color represents a real percentage, as if it were infographic. The enormous size of the courtyard, the coloring of this mat, and the lifting of one end of the mat, have the force of inspiration from the roof of the temple. And in the future 2050, the gradient of the mat may change if our society disposes of trash, landfills cheaply and recycles recyclables. The area behind the raised corner of the mat also displays furniture from plastic waste, such as water bottle caps, chairs, benches to try.

The purpose of this mat is for the gathering of people in Bangkok to sit on the mat, watch the show together like the Thai culture of watching. If anyone goes at night, they will see the light installation at the Bangkok City Hall next to each other. (As for us coming in the afternoon, just after noon, the mat is very hot - should come in the evening to sit on the mat, cool weather)

The second task is the minute pocket / urban bed (Figure 3-4):

It is a wasteland that is waiting to be used as a temporary pocket park. It is a central garden for people who come through to rest. We can sleep or sit on a large crib of various colors. We can lie down and close our eyes and listen to the birds sing. It is a rare, peaceful, and very comfortable atmosphere. There are also bean bag chairs that sew together different colors and textures. Cute and sweet. Very nice to sit.

The next work is the wonderwall (Figure 5):

This work is located at the swing pole. It tells about solar cell problems that we think are good for the environment. But when solar cell expires, waste disposal creates more problems for the environment than solar cell itself can reduce global warming. This work takes solar cell debris and makes beautiful tiles, like blocks that can be passed through, but cannot see through it. It can be used for both external and internal construction.

As we walked through the work, we came across the delicious Salabochi Trolley (Figure 8) of the culinary students of Dusit Park University. There was a seat with a large umbrella, formed by the idea of converting a two-block street parking lot into a temporary seat.

Walking to the fair, there was a hunger. Looking at the map from the Bangkok Design Week pamphlet, there was a shop.โกปี๊เฮี้ยะไถ่กี่ ณ สราญรมย์The famous Gopi shop opposite the courtyard of the city tried chicken roasted noodles wrapped in eggs with a strong taste. Very delicious. Next in the alley there is a shop.เฉาก๊วยตาตั้มคาเฟ่A cafe that makes us change our feelings for Noody. This is a big, chewy piece. You can eat only or with fresh milk, cold milk, tofu juice, Thai tea or more.

Considered one day in a fun and full city. 💙
