ADHD: The “Not Enough” Side
I’ve been thinking a lot about ADHD lately, and everyone always talks about it being “too much” — too loud, too emotional, too intense. But what about the opposite side? The quiet, inattentive side that doesn’t get noticed as much. The side that’s told: you’re not organized enough, not attentive enough, not disciplined enough, not involved enough.
It’s exhausting to constantly feel like you’re failing, even when you’re just trying to exist in a world designed for someone else’s brain. People with “inattentive” ADHD often feel invisible because our struggles are subtle, internal, and rarely acknowledged. No one calls out the kid who is quietly overwhelmed or the adult who’s “forgetful” but competent. It’s not dramatic, but it’s real — and it’s draining.
This is for anyone whose ADHD makes them feel not good enough, even though they’re working as hard as anyone else just to navigate life. You are seen, and your experience is valid.
Have you ever felt like your ADHD is quietly overlooked rather than obvious?
