I combed out my locs 😩🤭

... Read moreCombing out locs is a significant and often emotional step for many who have worn their hair in dreadlocks. This process not only represents a physical change but also symbolizes a fresh start, as many people associate locs with a specific chapter in their lives. Transitioning from locs to natural curls, especially type 4 kinky curly hair, requires patience, proper care, and a new hair care routine to maintain hair health and encourage curl definition. Type 4 hair, characterized by its tight curls and coils, tends to be more fragile and prone to dryness. After combing out locs, it is essential to use moisturizing shampoos and conditioners designed for curly hair to restore moisture and manageability. Protective hairstyles and regular deep conditioning treatments can prevent breakage and encourage hair growth. Documenting a curl journey involves understanding your natural hair texture, embracing its unique pattern, and learning styling techniques that enhance curl definition without damaging the hair. Many find success using sulfate-free products, curl creams, and diffusers to help their natural curls thrive. In summary, combing out locs and starting a new curl journey is both a physical and emotional transition. It’s an encouraging step towards embracing natural beauty and self-expression through hair. Joining communities and sharing experiences through hashtags like #loccombout, #curljourney, #type4hair, and #kinkycurlyhair can provide valuable support and inspiration along this transformative process.

Why I combed out my locs!
Hello everyone! I wanted to give a quick storytime on why I combed out my locs. I had locs since I was 7 and combed them out over last winter break. I was diagnosed with lupus last summer and due to the stress of being diagnosed as well as the diagnosing process my locs began to thin. Once reviving

Why I combed out my locs
1)I didn’t like how my loc turned out. They differed in size which I know can be expected, but I felt the size difference was great. Some were medium in size and some were the size of micro locs if not sister locs. 2)I missed the length of my hair. I had been loc’d for over 3 years and my length
