「こがね餅と葛きりの 中村屋（熱海市）」は、いわゆる“食べ歩きの行列店”というより、店内で落ち着いて甘味を楽しめるタイプのお店でした。商店街の人通りが多いので、外に列がないと逆に見落としやすいのも納得。私も最初は「え、ここ？」となったので、入口の暖簾（のれん）と看板を目印にすると見つけやすいです。 実際に食べて印象に残ったのは、やっぱり焼き餅。海苔で巻かれていて、近づいた瞬間にふわっと香りが立つのが良い…！最初は表面がパリッとしていて、食べ進めるともっちり感が出てくるタイプで、甘すぎないのに満足感が高かったです。甘味処の焼き餅って“ついで”になりがちですが、ここは主役級だと思いました。 もう一つの看板が葛きり。メニュー写真でも存在感があって、つるっとしたのど越しと、黒蜜の相性がしっかり楽しめます。注意点としては「葛きり職人さんが不在だと提供がないことがある」という話。確実に葛きり目当ての日は、来店前に営業状況や提供可否を確認しておくと安心です。 店内はジャズが流れていて、観光途中に“少し休憩したい”タイミングにかなり向いていました。窓越しに商店街を眺められる席もあり、外の賑わいと店内の落ち着きのギャップが良い感じ。ドリンクは抹茶だけじゃなく、コーヒーも選べるので、甘味＋カフェ利用にも使いやすいです。 行くときのコツは時間配分。営業時間が11:00〜16:30で、夕方前に閉店なので要注意です。私は「あとでもう一回…」と思って戻ったら間に合わなかったので、焼き餅を狙うなら早めの時間帯に行くのがおすすめ。定休日は水・木とのことですが変更もあり得るので、最新情報は事前確認が安心です。 総合すると、熱海市での食べ歩きに“感動系の和菓子”を1つ入れたい人にぴったりのレビュー対象店。流行りグルメの合間に、長く続く名店の味でリセットする感じで寄ると満足度が上がりました。
