I was a bit excited when I began the book. Reading something that made me laugh, kicking those dopamine hits like David Beckham scoring goals. Genuine laugh out loud moments. And then out of nowhere our author brings important depth to our beloved Poppy and her people and I cried. Of course I did. Have I even throughly read a novel if I have not shed tears.
The madness of a slow burn, fake-engagement to wedding story. Kade Vale weaves along that boundary of will they won’t they, watching them each fall separately and then fall together, with surgical precision and maddening delicacy.
This is the first novel I have read by Kade Vale and I am so happy to be adding other works to my growing TBR list.
