The older I get, the more I realize peace is actually one of the most valuable things you can protect 🤍
Healing isn’t always dramatic or glamorous like social media makes it seem. Sometimes it’s just:
• setting boundaries
• outgrowing certain people
• protecting your energy
• choosing softer environments
• learning to stop abandoning yourself to keep everyone else comfortable
I used to think constantly being available, over explaining myself, tolerating disrespect, and staying in draining situations made me a “good person.” In reality, it was just exhausting me mentally and emotionally.
You are allowed to choose peace over chaos.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to protect your time and energy.
And honestly? The older you get, the less appealing drama becomes 🫠
Save this for your healing era, soft girl era, self love journey, or whenever you need the reminder 🤍

Over time, I've learned that peace isn’t something we find; it’s something we create by choosing what and who we allow into our lives. For me, this meant clearly setting boundaries and saying no to one-sided friendships — those where I was always the one making the effort.
I used to romanticize drama and chaos, mistaking them for excitement or passion. But after many exhausting experiences, I realized that calmness and consistency are invaluable luxuries. This shift helped me avoid environments and relationships that drained me emotionally and mentally. Instead, I sought softer spaces—ones that nurture and uplift rather than stress and deplete.
Another eye-opener was recognizing when I was over-explaining myself. Trying to justify my feelings or boundaries to those unwilling to understand only added to my mental exhaustion. I now focus on communicating clearly to the people who genuinely care, understanding that the right connections won’t complicate or belittle my needs.
Choosing myself wasn’t easy at first. I had to work on not shrinking to make others comfortable and to stop accepting disrespect disguised as jokes. Protecting my time and energy became an act of self-love, not selfishness. It was about honoring my worth and recognizing that rest and peace are productive and necessary.
For anyone on a healing journey or embracing their soft life era, remember: growing older often means growing wiser about what truly matters. Protecting your peace changes everything. It empowers you to live authentically and joyfully, free from unnecessary chaos.
Yess I totally agree! Amen 🙏 ❤️
