4 things I’ve stopped doing as a healed women.

2024/1/23 Edited to

... Read moreWalking a healing path often means shedding layers of what no longer serves us, practices that subtly undermine our peace and make us feel misunderstood. It’s a profound journey of self-discovery, leading to a point where you realize true strength comes from within, not from external validation. Many times, the things we do to cope or fit in actually create distance between our true selves and how the world perceives us, leading to that frustrating feeling of being misjudged. One significant shift I made was recognizing how getting entangled in SITUATIONSHIPS contributes to this feeling. These undefined connections leave you constantly guessing, often making you feel like your worth isn't recognized. When you're not clear on where you stand, it's easy for others to misunderstand your intentions, or even worse, for you to misunderstand your own needs. As a healed woman, I learned that true self-love means demanding clarity and respect, refusing to settle for anything less than a relationship that honors my value. This helps clarify my boundaries not just for others, but for myself, reducing instances of feeling overlooked or misread. Another habit I consciously broke was the tendency to SAY YES TO THE THINGS I DON'T ACTUALLY WANT TO DO. This people-pleasing behavior, while seemingly kind, often leads to resentment and a lack of authenticity. When you constantly agree to things out of obligation rather than genuine desire, you're presenting a version of yourself that isn't true. This makes it incredibly difficult for people to understand your real preferences, limits, and personality. Setting boundaries by saying 'no' means you're being honest with yourself and others, fostering genuine connections based on who you truly are, not who you pretend to be. This act of self-preservation helps others see and respect your true self, lessening the burden of feeling misunderstood. I also stopped trying to SEEK COMFORT FROM FOOD OR ALCOHOL as a primary coping mechanism. While these can offer temporary relief, they ultimately mask deeper emotional needs. When you consistently numb your feelings, you prevent yourself from truly processing them and articulating what you need. This creates a barrier, making it hard for even those closest to you to understand your struggles or support you effectively. Learning to sit with discomfort, identify the root cause of my feelings, and find healthier ways to cope has been instrumental. It allows my true emotions to surface, enabling clear communication and a deeper understanding of my inner world, which in turn helps others understand me better. Finally, and perhaps most powerfully, I committed to no longer SPEAK BADLY ABOUT MYSELF. Our internal dialogue shapes our reality and influences how we present ourselves to the world. Constant self-criticism can manifest as insecurity, hesitation, or even defensiveness, which can be easily misinterpreted by others. If you don't speak kindly to yourself, how can you expect others to truly see your worth? Cultivating self-compassion and positive self-talk not only boosts confidence but also projects an aura of self-respect. This shift in internal language helps you assert your boundaries and express your true self more clearly, reducing the chances of being misunderstood. It's about owning your narrative and inspiring others to see the strong, capable, healed woman you truly are.

Listening to sad music- I love sad music, I think it’s beautiful and relatable. But the reality is it does not help in any way shape or form. It puts you in a negative mindset and you end up in a never ending loop. You’re sad so you listen to sad music, which makes you more sad. And so it repeats.
