But before and after every workout, she tells her self a different story.
One day she’s feeling like a million bucks, strong and healthy. Another day she feels heavy, too slow, to round around the edges.
But everyday, she’s beautiful.
I workout to be healthy for my kids. I workout to get rid of certain things on my body I don’t love since having kids, having an emergency C-section. Not only do I workout to change these things, I go to therapy to mentally workout. To remind myself it’s okay if I have scars. To reframe that those scars gave me beautiful babies. That this body is mine and I am grateful for it in every season.
Is it easy? Nope. But it’s the truth, even if I find it hard to believe somedays. 😌🫶🏻

For me, and so many others, these aren't just pictures; they're powerful declarations. They're an OFFICIAL OATH to ourselves, a commitment to health, strength, and self-love that goes far beyond what the eye can see.
It’s easy to look at a post-workout picture and only see the surface – the flushed face, the damp hair. But the true beauty lies in the effort, the resilience, and the sheer dedication it took to get there. Whether it was a grueling gym session, a challenging run, or even just a gentle walk that felt like a marathon on a tough day, that selfie captures a moment of victory. It’s a visual reminder that you showed up for yourself, even when it was hard.
For many of us, especially moms and those navigating body changes, the journey to self-acceptance is ongoing. Our bodies tell stories of life, of strength, of challenges overcome. A sweaty selfie can be a radical act of body positivity, a way to say, 'This is me, right now, in this moment of effort and growth, and I’m proud of it.' It’s about celebrating your body for what it can *do*, not just what it looks like.
I’ve learned that the most empowering sweaty selfies aren't about perfection. They're about authenticity. They're about embracing the raw, unfiltered truth of your effort. There's no need for perfect lighting or elaborate poses. Just you, your sweat, and the quiet pride of having pushed yourself. Think of it as a personal milestone, a visual diary entry of your commitment to well-being.
So, next time you finish a workout, consider snapping that sweaty selfie. Don't worry about how 'good' you look. Focus on how strong you *feel*. Let it be your personal testament, your digital high-five to yourself. Share it if you want, to inspire others or to hold yourself accountable. Or keep it just for you, as a powerful symbol of your journey. Remember, every drop of sweat is a badge of honor, a reminder that you are capable, resilient, and absolutely beautiful in your strength. It’s a simple act, but it carries a profound message of self-love and dedication.
