African summer > European summer
African summer > European summer
Did I forget to tell y’all I spent my summer traveling through Africa?
I know for the last few months we’ve all been looking at everyone’s European summer pics & videos but I decided to spend my summer a little differently.
My summer consisted of my first safari in Nairobi, wine tasting in Cape Town and swimming in crystal blue waters in Zanzibar. It was so much better than I imagined.
I’ve been a little MIA on the Lemon8 but I promise I’ve been out here living life and going to fill y’all in on all of it.
Have you traveling to a country in Africa yet? If not, where do you want to go?

So many of you have been asking about my African summer, and honestly, it was everything I hoped for and more! You know how everyone flocks to Europe in the summer? I decided to trade that in for something truly different, and let me tell you, it was even better than I imagined. My journey started in Nairobi, Kenya. The safari experience there was just unreal. Waking up to the sounds of the African bush and seeing wildlife like elephants, giraffes, and even lions in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking. It's not just a photo op; it's a deeply moving connection with nature that you simply don't get anywhere else. If you're considering an African summer, a safari is an absolute must-do. Next, I explored the vibrant city of Cape Town, South Africa. Beyond the fantastic wine tasting tours I mentioned earlier, this city has such a unique energy. From the iconic Table Mountain views to the colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood and the rich history at Robben Island, there's so much to discover. I spent an afternoon exploring the V&A Waterfront, enjoying fresh seafood and soaking in the bustling atmosphere. It really made me appreciate the diverse culture and history that makes this part of Africa so special. For anyone looking for a blend of adventure, culture, and relaxation, Cape Town truly offers it all. And then, there was Zanzibar. Oh, Zanzibar! The pure, crystal-clear turquoise waters and white sandy beaches were like something out of a dream. I spent my days swimming, snorkeling, and simply unwinding under the sun. It was the perfect contrast to the safari excitement and city exploration, offering a serene escape. This island truly embodies the idyllic 'African summer' paradise. Many people think of Africa as just safaris, but my trip showed me so much more. It's a continent of incredible diversity, from ancient cultures to stunning natural beauty and modern, bustling cities. If you're on the fence about choosing an African summer over a European summer, I wholeheartedly encourage you to make the leap. The experiences are so authentic and profound. If you're planning your own adventure, don't just think about the big names. Consider destinations like Marrakech for its souks and history, or the pyramids of Egypt, or even the beaches of Mozambique. For budget-conscious travelers, researching flights to various African destinations can open up incredible opportunities. The key is to be open to discovery! I'm already dreaming of my next trip to explore more of the most beautiful cities in Africa.
