My Supplements for ADHD 🫨💊

Supplements are not necessary in dealing with ADHD, but I use supplements to help better manage my ADHD and it works for me, so definitely have a conversation with your doctor if you decide that you also want to include supplements for your ADHD and see what supplements will work for you.

My supplements that I use for my ADHD are: -Magnesium

-Omega-3 (Fish Oil)

-Iron OR Zinc

-Bonus: focus gummies

NOTE: please do not take zinc and iron at the same time. I do not take them together, I will alternate between the two supplements based on what I need at the time.

... Read moreNavigating ADHD can be a unique journey, and while supplements aren't a standalone solution, I've found certain ones have genuinely supported my well-being alongside professional guidance. It's crucial to always have a conversation with your doctor or a healthcare professional before adding any new supplements to your routine, as individual needs and interactions can vary. My personal journey led me to explore specific supplements that many with ADHD consider beneficial, especially focusing on those like Zinc and Iron. I’ve noticed a real difference incorporating them. For example, Zinc is an incredible mineral that plays a vital role in so many bodily functions, including brain health. When I started researching 'zinc for ADHD,' I learned it acts as an antioxidant and helps with neurotransmitter function. I personally use up&up Zinc 50 mg caplets, and I’ve felt a noticeable improvement in my overall mental wellness and clarity. It's like my brain fog lifts a little, helping me feel more grounded and focused throughout the day. It’s definitely one of those 'adhd supplements for adults' that has made a subtle but meaningful impact. Then there’s Iron. If you’re like me and deal with restlessness or inattention as part of your ADHD symptoms, iron deficiency could be contributing. I found that ensuring my iron levels were adequate, by taking up&up Iron 65 mg tablets, really helped calm some of that internal fidgeting and improved my ability to concentrate. The key takeaway for me was realizing how intertwined physical health, like mineral levels, is with mental well-being when managing ADHD. Just remember what I mentioned before: if you’re considering both zinc and iron, it’s best to alternate them rather than taking them at the same time to ensure proper absorption and avoid any potential imbalances. Beyond Zinc and Iron, Omega-3 (fish oil) has been a cornerstone of my supplement regimen. I specifically use Nature Made Burp-Less Ultra Omega-3, and I've found it invaluable for cognitive function. The benefits of Omega-3 for increasing brain functions, assisting with attention, and improving task completion are well-documented, and I can attest to feeling more 'on' in terms of mental agility and sustained focus after consistently taking it. It feels like my brain is working more efficiently, which is a huge win when you have ADHD. Magnesium is another fantastic addition, especially for calming hyperactivity and promoting better sleep. I opt for Nature Made High Absorption Magnesium Glycinate because I heard it’s gentler on the stomach and highly absorbable. For me, it truly aids in stress management and helps me wind down in the evenings. Having a calmer mind at night means better sleep, and better sleep directly impacts my ADHD symptoms the next day. It’s a wonderful support for overall nervous system health. And for those days when I need an extra boost, I have OLLY Laser Focus gummies as a bonus. While not a core treatment, they offer a convenient and tasty way to get a little extra mental clarity when I need to tackle a particularly demanding task. It’s like a little pick-me-up that helps me stay engaged. These 'best supplements for ADHD' are what have worked for me personally as an adult navigating this condition. They are not a replacement for medication or therapy, but they represent a valuable layer of support in my holistic approach to managing ADHD. Always listen to your body, consult with your healthcare provider, and remember that finding what works for you is a journey of discovery.
