My Favorite Place to WFH | Le Pain Quotidien

📍70 W 40th St

M-F 6am-9pm

Sat-Sun 7am-9pm

There are so many cafes in the city to read, study and spend a morning or afternoon working from home. The Le Pain Quotidien near Bryant Park is a go to of mine. It has a calm atmosphere and there are many places to sit, inside and outside. The food and drinks are amazing, especially their bakery items. Usually I just get a Chai latte with almond milk, but had to try the Belgian brownie too, it was amazing, thick and a little on the sweeter side😋

I was surprised with how quiet it was, obviously a I could hear little chatter, but not overly consuming. Mainly I get read and answer emails there, but I’ve seen in the past a lot of people with laptops working or studying. 📖

I wouldn’t recommend coming during lunch time. It can get very packed and have no seating, if that happens Bryant park is right across the street and there are a lot of tables to sit at. Would recommend around 9-10am or early afternoon🤎

Le Pain Quotidien

2023/8/23 Edited to

... Read moreAs someone who's always on the hunt for the perfect remote work or study spot in the city, I can confidently say that Le Pain Quotidien near Bryant Park has become one of my absolute favorites. It's more than just a place to grab a coffee; it's an experience that truly helps me focus and be productive. Walking into this Le Pain Quotidien location, the first thing that always catches my eye is the incredible bakery counter and display. It’s filled with an array of tempting pastries and freshly baked bread. From flaky croissants to hearty sourdough loaves, the selection is impressive. I’ve tried their apple turnover and the rich Belgian brownie (which is delightfully thick and sweet!), but honestly, everything looks and smells amazing. It’s hard to resist grabbing something extra to fuel my work session. Their commitment to quality in their baked goods is evident, and it makes my breaks so much more enjoyable. What truly sets this cafe apart for me is its interior and seating. Despite being in the heart of NYC, it maintains a surprisingly calm vibe and quiet atmosphere. The interior is bright and welcoming, with a spacious area that never feels cramped. There are various seating options, from individual tables perfect for focused work to larger setups that could easily accommodate a small study group or even a communal table if you're feeling sociable. I particularly appreciate the back seating area, which offers even more space and a slightly more secluded feel when I need to dive deep into tasks. It’s rare to find such a peaceful environment where the background chatter is just enough to feel lively but never distracting. Beyond the cozy interior, the outdoor seating is a fantastic bonus, especially on a beautiful day. It’s lovely to enjoy the fresh air while working, and it’s a great option if the inside gets a bit full. Speaking of full, my personal tip is to avoid peak lunchtime. That’s when it can get quite packed, and finding a seat becomes a challenge. I’ve found that around 9-10 am or early afternoon (after the lunch rush but before the evening crowd) is the sweet spot for a productive and relaxed experience. If by chance it is full, Bryant Park is literally across the street, offering plenty of benches and tables for an outdoor workspace. Overall, whether you're looking for a peaceful spot to tackle your to-do list, study for an exam, or simply enjoy a delicious chai latte and some of the best bread and pastries in the city, Le Pain Quotidien near Bryant Park is a gem. It’s become my reliable haven for getting things done while enjoying a truly delightful cafe experience.
