Okay, so getting ready for a wedding can actually be a whole event in itself, right? Especially when you want to feel your absolute best! Since I mentioned practicing my makeup, I thought I'd dive a bit deeper into my full 'Get Ready With Me' routine for a wedding. It’s all about feeling confident and comfortable, so here are some of my go-to tips and steps! 1. The Pre-Game Prep: Skincare & Hair Plan My wedding GRWM actually starts days before the event! I make sure to stick to my regular skincare routine – hydration is key for that glowing base. The night before, I might even use a hydrating sheet mask. For my hair, I usually have an idea of what to do. If it's an updo, I might wash my hair the day before so it's not too soft and slippery. If it's waves or a blowout, I'll plan to do that on the morning of. No last-minute hair experiments for me! 2. Makeup Practice: The Main Event! As I mentioned, I love practicing my makeup. For a wedding, I usually aim for something long-lasting and photo-friendly. My routine generally involves: Primer: Essential for longevity! I use a hydrating one. Foundation/Concealer: Something with good coverage but not too heavy. I always test how it looks in different lighting beforehand. Eyes: This is where I experiment most. Do I want a soft glam, a classic winged liner, or something shimmery? Waterproof mascara is a non-negotiable! Brows: Filled in but natural-looking. Blush & Highlight: To add that healthy glow. Cream products tend to last really well. Lips: A long-wear lipstick or a stain with a comfortable gloss on top. I always bring this for touch-ups. Practicing helps me time myself and make sure I’m happy with the overall look before the actual day. 3. Outfit & Accessories Selection: The Vibe Check Choosing the outfit for a wedding is always fun! I consider the dress code (if any), the venue, and the season. Comfort is super important too, especially if there's dancing involved. I try on my full outfit – dress, shoes, and any shapewear – a few days before to make sure everything fits perfectly and I can move around easily. Then come the accessories! I lay out my jewelry, handbag, and shoes. Does it all flow together? Sometimes a statement earring or a delicate necklace can really elevate the whole look. Don't forget a chic clutch that can hold your phone, lipstick, and any emergency essentials like pain relievers or a mini sewing kit! 4. Hair Styling: Finishing Touches Once my makeup is done, I move onto my hair. Whether it's elegant curls, a sleek bun, or a half-up style, I make sure to use heat protectant and a good holding spray. I also have a few trusty hair ties and bobby pins on hand for any adjustments throughout the day. A quick spritz of shine spray can make a big difference! 5. The Final Once-Over & Emergency Kit Before heading out the door, I do a full body check in the mirror. Is anything out of place? Is my outfit sitting right? A final spritz of setting spray for my makeup and a dab of perfume, and I’m ready! I always pack a small emergency kit: lip product for touch-ups, blotting papers, a mini deodorant, and maybe a hair tie or safety pin. You never know what you might need! Getting ready for a wedding should be enjoyable, not stressful. By planning a little beforehand and having a routine, you can truly relax and celebrate the happy couple.
