Do you get weird PMS symptoms too?

Girls… what is your WEIRDEST PMS symptom??

Mine hits out of nowhere. One minute I’m fine, the next I’m absolutely freezing — hoodie on, socks on, wrapped in a blanket, wondering why my body feels like it’s in winter mode.

It’s always the most random symptoms too — not the “classic” PMS stuff people talk about. And every time it happens, I’m convinced something is wrong… until my period shows up and I’m like, oh. Right. That.

So now I need to know —

What’s YOUR weirdest PMS symptom? Or the one no one ever warned you about? 💗

... Read moreMany women experience PMS symptoms that go beyond the typical mood swings or cramps commonly discussed. One intriguing but less-known symptom is sudden, intense cold or chills, as described in the user's experience of feeling freezing cold, wrapped in multiple layers yet unable to warm up. This phenomenon can feel confusing, especially since it doesn’t happen every month and seems random. This chilling sensation is related to hormonal fluctuations before menstruation. Just before your period begins, the body’s levels of estrogen and progesterone change dramatically. Progesterone, in particular, can influence the body's temperature regulation, sometimes causing you to feel colder or warmer than usual. These hormone shifts impact your hypothalamus, the part of the brain responsible for body temperature control, which explains these unusual cold spells. Aside from feeling cold, women report a wide variety of unexpected symptoms such as food aversions, skin changes, sensory sensitivities, or unusual fatigue. Recognizing these lesser-known PMS symptoms can help women better prepare for their menstrual cycle and distinguish normal variations from signs that may require medical attention. It’s important to note that while these symptoms can feel alarming, they often resolve once menstruation starts. However, if unusual symptoms persist or severely impact daily life, consulting a healthcare professional is recommended. Sharing your weird PMS symptoms, like sudden coldness or other less-discussed experiences, helps build awareness and community. You’re not alone in experiencing 'random' pre-period symptoms that can feel unsettling but are part of many women’s menstrual journeys.

OMG, the freezing thing is SO relatable! I swear I turn into an ice cube every month and no amount of blankets seems to help. My weirdest one is definitely insane cravings for super specific, random foods though.

Yes, definitely. PMS can show up in strange ways like mood swings, fatigue, cravings, or feeling extra emotional for no clear reason.
