Movies I Watched

⭐️ The Pianist: Very detailed and dark portrayal of the way the Jews were ACTUALLY treated by the Nazis. It was tear jerking and harsh.

⭐️ Moonlight (2016): A deeply moving exploration of identity, love, and masculinity. The storytelling was raw and intimate, leaving me speechless.

⭐️ 10 Things I Hate About You: Witty, romantic, and endlessly quotable. A perfect mix of humor and heartfelt moments. Character and their relationship's development was lacking and fell flat sometimes.

⭐️ Beautiful Boy: Heartbreaking and raw. A poignant depiction of addiction’s impact on family and resilience.

⭐️ The Spectacular Now: A tender yet bittersweet coming-of-age tale with layered characters and an emotional punch. There were some awkward moments in the dialogue, but they fit the theme

⭐️ Twilight: A nostalgic, guilty pleasure with an iconic love story. Campy and fun in all the right ways. Not a cinematic masterpiece by any means, just a classic.

⭐️ The Breakfast Club: Timeless and profound. A sharp take on teenage struggles and stereotypes that still resonates. Definitely cringed at some things but it's ok, it was the 80s

⭐️ We Live in Time: A beautifully crafted story of love and loss, filled with emotional depth. Great to see in theaters!

⭐️ To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: Adorable, lighthearted, and full of charm. A delightful modern teen romance.

... Read moreYou know that feeling when a movie just gets you? When it leaves you thinking, smiling, or even shedding a tear long after the credits roll? That's what I love about film, and it's exactly what I look for when I'm curled up on the couch for a movie night. My recent watch list, with films like the deeply impactful 'The Pianist' (a solid 5.0 in my book!) and the raw intimacy of 'Moonlight' (another 5.0!), definitely delivered on the emotional front. But sometimes, you just need something different, right? Choosing a movie based on your mood can truly elevate the experience. If you're craving something that will make you feel the weight of history and human resilience, 'The Pianist' is an absolute must-see, although be prepared for a truly harsh and tear-jerking portrayal. For a profound exploration of identity and love, 'Moonlight' is unparalleled. And if you're in the mood for something heartbreakingly real about addiction, 'Beautiful Boy' (another 5.0 for me!) offers a poignant depiction that stays with you. These are the kinds of films that spark deep conversations and leave you a bit 'fuzzier' around the edges, in the best possible way. On the flip side, sometimes my heart just needs a dose of comfort and nostalgia. That's where movies like '10 Things I Hate About You' (a fun 2.3 for its witty charm, even with its flat character development) or the iconic, campy 'Twilight' (3.0 for pure guilty pleasure!) come in. And who can forget the timeless wisdom of 'The Breakfast Club' (4.0), a sharp take on teenage struggles that still resonates today? For a more modern, delightful teen romance, 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before' (3.7) is pure joy. These films might not always be cinematic masterpieces, but their ability to transport you back or simply make you smile is invaluable. When I’m in the mood for a bittersweet coming-of-age story, 'The Spectacular Now' (3.8) really hit the mark with its layered characters and emotional punch. And for a beautifully crafted story of love and loss, 'We Live in Time' (4.7) was a fantastic theater experience. Having a 'Movies I Watched last month' recap helps me not only remember what I saw but also categorize them by the feeling they evoked. So, how do you find your next emotional journey? Beyond personal recommendations like mine, I often look at aggregated ratings and reviews, similar to how I've rated these films. Sites like Rotten Tomatoes or IMDb can guide you, letting you filter by genre or even mood tags. And where can you watch them? While some might search for specific sites, it's always best to stick to legitimate streaming platforms to support the creators and ensure quality. Many of these gems can be found on services like Netflix, Hulu, Max, Amazon Prime Video, or Apple TV+. Often, a quick search on a platform like JustWatch.com can tell you exactly where a particular movie is streaming or available for rent/purchase. Ultimately, whether you're seeking a profound emotional experience or just a nostalgic escape, there's a movie out there for every feeling. So, next time you're wondering what to watch, think about what kind of 'fuzzier' feeling you're chasing, and let that guide your choice!
