i don’t get why she was mad at me
if I haven’t mentioned it yet, or you just got a know, I actually have been working at a hostel through Worldpackers!
A while ago I bought a car so that I can travel throughout the United States through Vanlife while I wait for my visa to be approved, but ultimately decided I need a little bit more stability and started volunteering.
so at the hostels, you mean people from all over the world staying for anywhere between a day to 21 days, which is really fun because you get to make connections or learn peoples stories and make friends from lot of different countries. One of the people staying at the hostel is very attractive young man from Rio de Janeiro.
It’s heaven started staying here right before my friend was ending her volunteer time with this hostel, and we were going to a rooftop for a goodbye party for her. about two days before the party, another volunteer arrived, and obviously all three girls volunteering fancied this tall handsome man.
I suggested that we invite him to the pool party because I knew they both thought he was hot and I wasn’t really that interested because I don’t like starting fights or drama and I knew if everyone liked the same person it would start a whole thing.
If anything, I was actually just trying to hook up my friend with this guy, but at the party he didn’t want to leave me alone. got to the point where everyone including our boss came to me and asked me what I think about him and I just said “I don’t know” and I would go to the new girl and just talk to her because I didn’t want to start any drama.
Eventually told her that everyone keeps on asking me about him and she said to “ just go for it it’s fine”. Unfortunately where I’m from people usually say what they mean and they don’t beat around the bush or something with a hidden meaning or agenda, so I just went for it.
Let her know that me just going for it actually meant I just stopped ignoring this guy. I didn’t actually put any effort in to talking to him or getting to know him.😂
It turned out that we did actually have a lot in common and we hit it off pretty fast, but the other girl got really upset with me, but didn’t directly tell me she just told our one friend 🙃
we actually ended up spending a lot of time together, and he extended his stay at the hostel too. After a whole day of her being mad, and ignoring me and him - some new guys came into the hospital that were also quite attractive and her type. After having one conversation with them she actually said “now i can be happy again” 😶
I mean, honestly I’m happy that she can be happy again, but the whole situation really confused me because I’m used to people saying exactly what they mean and didn’t want to start drama in the first place. After talking with the guy (who i’m kinda seeing now lol) that when he came into the hostel the moment she saw me sitting at the table he was actually interested in me.
thankfully, she has moved past it because of all the other hot guys that come in and out of the hostel, but I just thought it was really odd because she said I should go for it.
